Purchased a bakery cake from N. 18th St. Monroe, La Brookshires. The cake tasted like hard cornbread.

Clean store. Some of the employees aren't friendly. Great selection but beware of the buy one get one for a penny sale. Prices are raised during the sale. Have checked them the week after and indeed they raised them.

Love to shop at Brookshire's when they have a good sale. The stores are neat and well organized. Friendly cashier's. However they are a bit pricey on many things and their "buy one get one for a penny" sale is a rip-off. Prices are raised for that sale, I checked before and after the sale. Produce is very fresh.
