Once Upon A Child in Monroe, LA, is a popular place for buying and selling kids' clothes and toys. Customers often find good deals, with prices much lower than other stores, making it a favorite for affordable children’s clothing. Shoppers have found that they can buy quality items, like jackets that look new, at a fraction of the retail price, and sometimes even resell or find the same items online for more money. However, the shopping experience can vary. Some customers mention that the store's clothing selection is mixed, with sizes from 2T to 10/12 all together, which can make shopping a bit harder. Service quality also differs; while staff is helpful at times, some customers feel they seem bothered or less attentive, especially when selling items. There are complaints about the store’s criteria for accepting clothes, with some items being rejected for stains or wear, even though other more worn items are sold. Additionally, some customers have expressed frustration over how clothes and toys are returned, feeling they are often not handled with care and are left in disorganized or damaged condition. Despite these issues, many customers appreciate the friendly staff and the owners' efforts to improve. One customer shared that after a negative experience, the owner personally called to apologize and explain, which left a positive impression. Overall, the store is valued for its great deals, quality items, and friendly environment, making it a preferred choice for secondhand shopping for kids’ clothing and toys in the area.
They have nice things for sale. But if you sell to them, you probably will be disappointed with the cash payout.

I love getting the 10 for 10$ onsies but the past few times I have been everything is a mess, the sizes are not organized. Half the ones I pick up have stains galore. I also noticed some with broken buttons. Just not worth looking through!

I tried selling this store some baby clothes that still had price tags on them and they didn't buy them. However, I've bought some toddler clothes from them with holes in them. That's odd to me.
