“My original review is below. I am changing my review because of one Southern Scripts employee: Pam Simmons. Over the past several weeks, Ms. Simmons doggedly worked, wading through the almost nonsensical process, to get my medication approved at the quantity prescribed. I feel extremely fortunate for her help. SHE deserves 5☆'sI gave only 4 stars because the SYSTEM is still broken. Insurance companies are in the business of making money, NOT ensuring that our medical needs are taken care of in an affordable and timely way. Rather than just employing countless (albeit caring) people to answer customer phone calls all day, without any real ability to take care of the backlog of unsolved rx issues, Southern Scripts needs to invest in MORE Pam Simmons, AND make it easy for clients to reach those customer advocates. Had it not been for Ms. Simmons' intervention, I would have gone with a different insurance company in August during open enrollment.SZW--‐-------------------------$3800 has been taken for my $3000 deductible, and Southern Scripts is STILL refusing to cover a generic medication they covered completely last year. Same quantity, same rx. Over the phone I'm told one thing, and when I get to the pharmacy, it's a different story. I have had to spend anywhere from $100-$200 out of pocket since September 1st to have the rx I need, and have taken for 25 years, in order to have a somewhat normal life. I am a single teacher and cannot afford the out of pocket costs I was NOT supposed to have, being over-billed by almost $1k on my deductible, & the mental duress plus many hours I have been on the phone trying to straighten out the financial obstacles Southern Scripts places on me & other customers, so they can make huge profits from our medical plights. I feel like I am in a daily shell game.”
