These guys are the real deal. If you are looking for BS and run arounds keep looking. If you want honest, fair and affordable service for your diesel try them out. I am very grateful to them for taking care of my wife's grandpa's old F250, it would not be rolling without them. Five stars cause 10 ain't an option.

Bad experience. [Diesel] Truck wouldnt start. Had it towed here, they told me both fuel pumps needed to be changed, and quoted over $6k for the job. I am an engineer and questioned their conclusion. Had it towed to the dealer, who troubleshot it more thoroughly and just changed the low pressure fuel pump. Now it runs perfectly again, for less than $1k. I am capable of looking past an honest mistake on the part of a shop - but this wasn't honest. They had no cause to replace that part. So - use this shop at your own risk.

It's hard for most people to feel passionate or even a little excited over a review of an automotive repair service. However, the folks at Automotive Diesel Service have given me a new perspective, as they are passionate about nearly everything that operates off of internal combustion. For over 40 years, Automotive Diesel Service has been operating on Abundance Street right off of Franklin Avenue between the I-10 and the Franklin Avenue overpass. Circa 2000-2001, they moved "across" the street when they purchased a new piece of property and put up a brand new facility which better serves their needs. Available services include: - big rig (diesel truck) maintenance and repair - Ford power-stroke diesel pickup maintenance and repair - automotive maintenance and repair - metal fabrication Freddie and Tom run a two man shop and have worked together most of their adult lives. They are New Orleans born and bred and are committed to the City of New Orleans by keeping their business here, even after Hurricane Katrina when many business owners opted to pull up stakes and move elsewhere. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to patronize local businesses, and this is definitely one of them. These two gentlemen love what they do. Even in there spare time, their lives are centered around vehicles. In the past, they built, owned and raced an alcohol powered funny car and an alcohol powered hydrofoil boat; both of which were named "Lick 'em and stick 'em". They are also both excellent motorcycle fabricators and mechanics and have been building custom choppers (for themselves) before there was ever any type of shows on Cable TV such as West Coast Choppers. You may ask why is this relevant. My point is that these two men know there way around a wrench, and there is nothing that they can't fix. I needed a front brake job on my wife's SUV yesterday and made an 8:00 appointment. As soon as I arrived, they called their parts distributor, ordered me a set of premium ceramic pads and had me back on the road in 90 minutes; and at a price that was better than the national chain competitors. This shop is all business, so you won't see any fancy waiting room with a latte machine at your disposal; so bring your coffee with you or drop your vehicle off for pickup upon completion. However, what you do get is the peace of mind that you have some of the most talented auto/diesel technicians in the NOLA area. And these are guys that will honestly tell you if you really do not need a service that may have been "recommended" by another shop. It may sound cliché, but Freddie and Tom are honest mechanics and that's why their customers are so loyal. So whether you drive a Buick or a backhoe, or a Ford or a Freightliner; these guys have you covered.
