Overall a positive experience. Very convenient location. Friendly staff. Car was good. Had low tire pressure so had to fill it on the road. Easy drop off. Overall, a good experience.

As long as you even get a car, your experience will be generally positive. That's the best that I can sum this place up.I can't understand why the car rental business as a whole has zero respect for reservations. I made a reservation for a small SUV at 10am. Because this isn't my first car rental rollercoaster ride, I arrived early. The attendant frankly tells me that she doesn't have the car I reserved, or any reliable car for that matter. Gee thanks. I paid for the reservation up front too.So my only choice was an electric car with speculative mileage left on the battery (I paid for unlimited miles). I was prepared to compromise to preserve my vacation, but another option arrived in the form of a pickup truck with some advanced wear. I jumped at the chance to get something with gasoline and off I went. I was out before my 10am reservation started.The customer behind me got the bad news that there weren't any cars left despite her reservation, and I have no idea how they reconciled that. All I kept thinking was that if I arrived on time as agreed, there would not have been a car left for me because it would've went to that customer.I don't know what to say really. On one hand I'm happy, got a good car and the whole process of receiving to returning was very good. On the other, they had no respect for my reservation and either gave my car away or lied about inventory. That being said, this happens frequently across the business. I don't get it.I guess you should get here as soon as they open. That's your best bet. Then it'll be early enough to try the other agencies if you're unsuccessful. The only other advice I can give you is to get a car at the airport where the inventory is better.

Customer service by attendant was horrible at best.Very short and rude with my family.Card look like they were used in bumper cars. Scratches and dents everywhere, car was not full of gas.Told attendant and she just said “take pictures”! She would not even come look over the car with us.Car was a 2023 Kia sonata and it drove horrible, pulled hard to the right. Did not feel safe driving it.Called back and we were told we could not return it.And that location was closed for 2 more days due to Mardi Gras. We could return it to the airport about 15 miles away.No one even listened to us on the phone.If we could not drive it fast - over 35mhp, how could I drive to the airport?Called a tow truck, they came immediately and picked it up, now awaiting our refund and an apology!Rented February 12 - 24

They are thieves, they add a “no Pkg items” without telling you what it corresponds to and that it will be charged to you in addition and make you sign the paper hastily results: 75 dollars more paid! After 90+ minutes of observation (aka waiting in line), the problems here are based on capacity management deficiency. They take reservations, but then don't actually use the data for fulfillment. When you arrive for your "reservation," they likely will not have your vehicle and you will wait in line behind others that also have reservations but no vehicles. Expectations are far from met and not managed.The only tip I can give is to reserve the highest tier vehicle - they won't upgrade but will give you a lower tier if it's available before your vehicle is. The risk is that you have to take the premium vehicle if it's there when you are.

Horrible company. Allowed me to wait in line for an hour just to tell me they don’t have cars available 0 stars. The last vehicle did not have air conditioner and was over due for maintenance.

Super poor reservation system. Arriving to a place saying there’s no car for me. If Avis cannot guarantee the reservation, then do not accept my booking. Time wasting plan disrupter.

Yvette is Fantastic !!!!!!On a very very busy Thanksgiving weekend she was able to get us a car.We had a confirmed reservation with a credit card payment at Hertz. When we showed up to pickup our car at Hertz all we got was the brush off and “we know you have a confirmed reservation but we don’t have a car for you”Luckily we found Yvette at Avis and our Family Thanksgiving was rescued.Thank you Yvette and Avis !!!

The location is Poydras Street, behind the Churchill statue inside the Hilton hotel.We picked the car up with no fuss, it was perfect for what we needed. Dropped it off a day early, again with no fuss.There was only one clerk but it wasn't busy and they were polite and friendly.

I try to be understanding given I rarely get what I reserve. Usually, the staff at other locations do what they can to right the short falls, and i leave in something usable and comfortable because it's not someone's fault all the time. Late but satisfied if i may..(Almost 2hours late,definitely not satisfied, and someone's fault as well at this location). Already reached out to customer service but was informed to call again at rental completion?? OkI was forced into a downgrade, which forced my family of 6 plus luggage to be extremely cramped hence, why i reserved a 7/8 person vehicle. (Premium suv suburban or similar)I watched and even tried to explain to him along with the other employee he was making a mistake. He disregarded all and proceeded to rent out the only 6 passenger on the lot to a single person. His response was I didn't know. Clearly untrue because myself and the other employee told him. The other employee even told him that he was not supposed to put a preferred member on a wait list the way he did as well. The other guy was supposed to go if anyone. He treated me as if it was my very first rental. He tried to make me think Avis only gives its good computers to the airport locations. His computers there were not capable of doing what I asked.... It was really an off-putting experience. When I asked for his name, he says he doesn't give out his last name, only his first name. Then he informs me that a manager will be there in an hour. Well, being as though I was already about 2 hours late at that point, I could not wait another hour. I still had a 6 hour trip ahead of me.

I generally use Avis for all my rentals because I have had good experiences in the past. I read the reviews for this particular location (Hilton, New Orleans) and did alter my plans slightly in case I experienced similar issues that others have had. I am glad I did. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, it wasn't there. Not only was it not there, but there were three other renters in front of me in a similar predicament. I waited for over an hour for a vehicle to show up. When one did arrive, it was pretty beaten up and the inside smelled intensely of stale cigarette smoke. With it being the only one available, I had to deal with it. Avis... I'm not impressed.

I flew in to New Orleans and reserved a rental car with this location on Wednesday May 17th. We arrived at this location and spoke with the gentleman at the counter. He informed us that there wasn't any cars available. This was a huge inconvenience for us especially since we had our reservations to Pick up a vehicle at this location.

AVIS IS NOT INSIDE THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL. They have their own building and own address of 2 poydras street not 2 canal. Please stop sending people to the Four Seasons, they do not deal with the rental cars
