Mall is quite dead, and the food was very crispy to burnt as if they used old oil. The frozen coffee was still top tier though ?

Sighs I went to this location to avoid crowd but maybe the cook likes the crowd and cooks better lolIt was cool to watch them make them in front of you but boy are they gross. It's like eating a flavorless dough with great sugar all over it. It was only edible if you dunk in the coffee , which I got black. I don't remember beignets tasting like this but based off this experience I may never try them again . You definitely don't need 3. LolThe coffee was piping hot so didn't enjoy much of it. I still have 2 beignets in my trunk. Hopefully they taste better today, but doubt it.

The Original Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stand was established in 1862 in the New Orleans French Market. The Cafe is open 24 hours a day and servesdark roasted coffee with chicory, beignets, white and chocolate milk, iced coffee, soda pop and fresh squeezed Orange Juice. The coffee is served Black or Au Lait. Au Lait means that it is mixed half and half with hot milk. Beignets are square French -style doughnuts covered with powdered sugar

Delicious and inexpensive beignets. The line gets very long and takes a while to get through. Because they were so busy it was hard to keep tables clean and accessible for additional guests.

I promise you this place is not worth the long lines. Maybe we went on an “off” day, but the beignets were extremely dense and greasy. I know Cafe Du Monde is iconic in Nola, but I’ve had much better beignets elsewhere. However, I would give this place another try next time we go to town since they are widely known to have great beignets. I’m hopeful we just went on a bad day.

Good product, bad experience. Love comming to the Riverwalk location as is much less busy. Today ordered the Cafe Au Lait passing through to the register I was billed for a beignet and lemonade. Kindly explained that was not what I ordered rather I ordered the Cafe Au Lait. Found out it was the customer after me fine. The women at register then somehow tryed to give and bill me for a Cafe Mocha. Nope.... again explained this was not what I order in which she became accusitory to me. Surprise surprise it was again the customer after me but not before being educated by this women on how taxes worked. I explained the coffee was only $3.85. how did my bill come to nearly $10 with taxes? Anyways finally was billed $4.21 in which I gave her $20.25 in cash. Now register screen says Change due: 16.04, what I recieved was $15.04. I literally laid the change on the counter to show this lady she is attempting to steal a dollar from me. She quickly opened her drawer and exchanged the five singles she gave to me for a $5 and $1 bill. Feeling frustrated I took my small coffee (keep in mind I ordered a medium) and left before making a scene. Let me be clear I do not appreciate being stolen from! This felt personal, watch yourself around these people.

Not the same environment as the original but still sense the history with the food and drink.

I really wanted to like the beignets here but was unfortunately dissatisfied. This place is a staple when you visit New Orleans but I feel it is very overhyped. The beignets are small compared to the other options in town. With trying the others in town I will also say these have more of an oil flavor to them. They are the cheapest beignets but the size reflects that. I recommend avoiding this place in the morning and go later in the day for shorter lines. I do love the music playing on the sidewalk outside though!

We were not impressed. The cafe is dirty and the beignets were not good. This is a cash only cafe. No dinner checks or receipts for your cash.
