I wish I had pictures to show you; the portions (even the apps and small plates) were huge! Awesome Bloody Mary, great service. Very fresh food (able to make mine gluten free) and not expensive. Will definitely recommend coming here!

Was told to order the cold smoked ribs-eye, because it was "heaven sent". By far it was the best steak I have eaten. Kudos to the chef, and the entire staff.

Billy was our first and perhaps best tour guide of Nola! We came here straight from the airport right after they opened and he told us all the best food to try. Now we know how to properly eat Grits!
Best for Lunch Because: This solid Bywater eatery serves a super tasty breakfast and lunch menu six days a week.
Best for Brunch Because: This home-style Bywater eatery caters to loyal locals crazy for off-the-plate portions and praline bacon.
Best for Homestyle Because: Elizabeth's is a locals' favorite, but the word has gotten around that this Bywater spot dishes tasty food at good prices.
Best for Family Friendly Because: Huge portions of Southern-style comfort food makes this place a winner.
Elizabeth's is that restaurant in Everytown, USA, that never changes because the locals won't let it. Years ago, a cadre of neighborhood regulars looked to the place for breakfasts and brunches of praline bacon (sweet, salty and crunchy with pecans and bursting with pork fat), grillades and grits, and calas, the old-fashioned Creole rice cakes. But the dinner menu also has made its reputation. Fried chicken livers with pepper jelly and blue cheese oysters compete with the old favorites, such as grilled catfish and Southern fried chicken. We also recommend the paneed pork chops with shrimp and brown gravy. Desserts are unimaginative but still tasty --- all the usual delights are available, like cheesecake and pecan pie. The wine list is a bit limited, but covers all necessary bases. Most selections are offered by the glass or bottle. Whatever you choose for your meal, be sure to follow the slightly tongue-in-cheek sign on the wall: "Shut up and eat!"
