I went to purchase a high-priced guitar amp. The price tag said that the store would match any legit price online. I found a cheaper price at Musician's Friend and also on the Guitar Center website. The store refused to match the price. This interaction was false advertising and poor service. The store lost my sale and possibly my business going forward.

Guitar center is slowly sinking into the abyss..Not just this, which is my favorite...Its there but with all of the online options, it just a place to visit...

This store sent me a very very used mk3 with no power cord. Didn’t even bother to somewhat clean the item. Worst experience with guitar center ever. Oh yea I paid for a brand new item.

Only place in New Orleans to get strings besides pawn shops and mom n pop stores here and there but mostly blacks and they dont prodominitely play guitars most of the time so it fucks us. Guitar center is closer to metairie. Nothing in the city. Alot of people may be disappointed to know theres really not a big demand for live music in new orleans the way it used to be anymore and it shows with the lack of retail for instruments besides brass horns and they sound like shit in any type of music. Just being honest in my opinion. Guitar Center is all we have so ill give it 5 stars or id be playing with Draco strings from the French Market or low end DiAddarios from the Pawn Shop. All hail Cuitar Center

The store has many instruments to purchase. They have lots of guitars- bass, electric, acoustic, etc. I went for an amp and a flute. It was difficult getting assistance, and it took about 30 minutes to get someone to help us. We got to the store around 515. After asking where the flutes are located, I found the separate section, which closed at 5. Sadly, we did not purchase a flute, but we did get help with an amp and bought it. We live about 30 minutes away from the store. If anyone is looking to purchase a woodwind or brass instrument, call to get the store hours of that section before visiting so you are not disappointed, especially if you are bringing your child that wants the instrument.

I got misgendered and they don’t rent out synths. A transfemmes worst nightmare ? (I’m half joking the customer service was great for the most part, other than the misgendering, but very sad yall don’t rent out synths.) you’re telling me this is the city of music and I can’t rent out a synth?!

Worst place ever to try and get anything musically related. I wish I didn't have to give them a single star.

The majority of reviews on this site are not indicative of my experience. My whole family went in there on 12/20/2023 and had a BLAST!! Their platinum rooms make them standout. Yes they were busy, but I waited my turn to have the young lady pull down a few guitars for me. I also patiently waited for her to hang them back up. They appeared to be fully stocked on everything and had far more used inventory than my GC in New Braunfels, Texas. They were doing the best they could being as busy as they were. I highly rate this location.

Was there for 20 minutes and no one asked if I needed help. Guitars I wanted to look at were out of reach and full of dust. Half of the store was used guitars. Not a big variety. The store is almost all fender and epiphone guitars.

I was shopping for a new guitar. They have a very good selection that also included some used guitars. Their prices were reasonable, and they even matched sale prices from the competition! I found the staff very helpful and friendly. I'm definitely coming back for my musical needs.

I had a terrible experience recently at this location. I went in to sell some stuff and I spent hours and waited for a long period before the clerk Joshua finally started to help me. I told him I was a repeat customer and have sold over 30 things to GC in the past 15 years. I knew the process yet this person was combative and eager to fight this being an easy transaction. I came in to get pics taken for vintage gear and Bianco could have easily took pics and sent them to the higher ups in Hollywood but instead he tried to force me to leave my instruments there for hours while he dealt with it. I told him I was not comfortable leaving stuff with him, and that ALL past sales through GC do not require this nor does it make sense for me to say leave go get food while Hollywood examines the pictures and leave 10,000$ worth of stuff with this 20 something year old with an attitude. I know the guys in Hollywood and they told me this is not normal behavior. GC needs to stop hiring immature people to handle high end music gear
