Amazing experience. Hands down the coolest place to stay in Nola. Todd (the owner) was extremely helpful and hospitable. The location was super convenient and the property itself is stunning. Very "New Orleans". Could not recommend enough.

We had an amazing stay at the Old Jail. First, the vibe is awesome and authentic to New Orleans. The space has historic photos, grand pianos other New Orleans eclectic pieces but is clean and modern, giving a lux feel when you're there. The rooftop view is great for morning coffee, and the rooms we stayed was perfect for two people and we had a bathroom.I love the Treme area and felt very safe the entire stay. Our rooms and the front door had codes for that added layer of privacy. The owner Todd couldn't be a better host! He had plenty of suggestions for food and live music and always greeted us with a smile - can't wait to stay here on our next NOLA visit.

Be prepared for a totally unique New Orleans visit if you choose to stay at this remarkable Inn. The Inn at the Old Jail is located in the colorful Treme district. Being outside but within walking distance of the bustling French Quarter was great. Exploring the nearby sites, cafes, museums etc. made it seem you were a local. Coming home to the Inn after a long day was very welcome. Todd is an extremely attentive host, and helped us acquaint ourselves to New Orleans, with recommendations. The Inn itself is full of colorful history and had many areas for relaxation and social interaction if desired. My favorite place was morning on the large back deck with a mug of Todds fresh brewed coffee. Evenings on the deck watching the sun set was also lovely. The rooms are scattered throughout the building and ours was very comfortable and roomy. We definitely recommend a stay at the Inn at the Old Jail.Rooms: Our room was great. It was shaded all day so we appreciated that. Some rooms open onto the main floor which at times can get a little noisy with folks coming and going. If considering a stay, ask Todd about what room may suit you. We were very happy with our room and service. I also appreciated the many scattered comfortable lounge areas. The Inn is appointed in a very unique and lovely manner suited to it's New Orleans environs.Nearby activities: There are three ( by my count ) Museums nearby worth visiting. Check hours and days. Treme has plenty of great food and drink options. There is so much to see in New Orleans.... check out options before you visit. There are some good guides at the Inn for reference and Todd is great at recommending local places.Safety: The area felt safe during morning and daylight hours. As in any big American city best to arrange an Uber or Taxi at night.Walkability: We mostly walked and found it a great option. Close by are the NOMA, and some great cafes ( Cafe Degas ), Bakeries ( Flour Moon Bagels, and LEOS BREAD! ), a brew pub and nightclubs. The French Quarter is not too far away by foot. Uber or Taxi home. There are other districts ( Garden District ) worth visiting that would require a taxi or Uber. We did attempt to take the streetcar ( 15 min. walk ) in to town once, but found there was no room on it!Noteworthy details: The history of the Inn is worth discovering. There are displays throughout the Inn and Todd is a great storyteller.

What a treat to stay at this gem of an Inn! Tons of history surrounding the building along with a dollop of charm and whimsey only found in Treme. The purveyor was quite a showman who prepared a lovely itinerary full of shenanigans and local gatherings. Would recommend a stay to anyone, the experience of the Inn really made the trip!

Wow!! I am overwhelmed with appreciation for this place. The effort that went into ensuring the history of the property was honored, while also ensuring all hospitality needs were also met, is remarkable. There are no details left undone. And the rooftop- magical!! I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Inn Keepers!!

Staying at the Inn at the Old Jail was amazing. I can't recommend it enough. I'm a frequent visitor to New Orleans and have stayed at both luxury hotels and airbnbs. I would say that you get the best of both worlds at the Inn. A great hotel experience with the laid back feeling of an airbnb. There's great food in walking distance (shout out Flour Moon and Lamara) and the location is perfectly located to get to the Quarter/Marigny, Bayou St. John/City Park, as well as the Fairgrounds if you are in town for Jazz Fest....not to mention you are in Treme. The roof deck is also a great hang zone to catch some rays during the day or relax outside after dark. Todd the Inn keeper is super friendly and can point you in the right direction for whatever experience you are looking for while you're in town. Highly recommend for larger groups looking to stay in one place !

Walking into the Inn at the Old Jail, I felt as if I was thrust back to my previous life as Clyde, and there I was with my girlfriend Bonnie, reliving the days of our dashing escapades. But hold on; instead of our usual dreary jail cell, we found ourselves in the lap of luxury disguised as a historic hotel! The ambiance whispered tales of a bygone era, as if the walls still reveled at the stories of mischievous characters who once graced this place. "Check-in, not lock-up," I mused, and we were handed keys to a room that felt more like a hideaway for notorious lovers than a cell for delinquents. This historic hideout is like a time machine that seamlessly transports you from the hustle of modern life to the charm of the early 1900s. The Inn wears its history like a badge of honor (pun most definitely intended), having served as an NOPD police jail & patrol station. The restoration is a work of art; each nook and cranny tells a story. The result? A place where handcuffs have given way to comfy duvets, and where you're more likely to find a cozy nook than a solitary confinement. In a world where wonderfully executed (see what i did again) boutique hotels are a dime a dozen, the Inn at the Old Jail stands out like Bonnie and Clyde on a bank heist. Nine rooms, beautifully appointed common spaces, and an ambiance that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a secret hideout for time-traveling outlaws. So, if you're looking to escape the mundane and channel your inner outlaw, check into the Inn at the Old Jail. After all, even notorious criminals need a little R&R, and where better than a place that used to be their overnight lockup turned boutique haven?Bravo, Inn at the Old Jail, for turning history into excellence and making our stay an arrestingly good time!-Patrick F./ Clyde Champion Barrow

From the moment you arrive in front of the building to the time you check out, the Inn is a grand experience. The owner, Todd, was attentive and hospitable. Even poured me a glass of rare whiskey from his private stock. Will I be staying at the Inn every time I come to NOLA? You betcha.

I have not stayed here and on the day I visited it was having a private event. That said, it is a very charming setting and speaking with a guest is a comfortable inn as well. The location is very nice in the historic Treme district. Very near the Lafite Greenway and some nice restaurants.

One could almost be skeptical of the rows and rows of 5 star ratings but the truth is, the charm and magic of the Inn at the Old Jail is simply undeniable. I don’t know how a place can have a quiet, calming vibe as well as a vibe that’s so super fun and lively. It’s perfect! I could go on and on about the host, Todd, but all you need to know is that he’ll quickly feel like a dear friend and he’s a huge part of why you will absolutely love it here. You just can’t beat the location, design, comfort, hospitality, and uniqueness of this exceptional place. Book your stay immediately!

I spent three nights last weekend at the Inn at the Old Jail and it was an unmatched experience. I was in New Orleans to celebrate my cousin's bachelorette weekend and we rented the entire place out for 13 guests. The host, Todd, was gracious and has a true gift of hospitality. He greeted us upon arrival, recommended some of New Orleans' most distinct experiences, and accommodated our every need. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. I was particularly pleased with how comfortable the beds and pillows were—so much so that I feel the need to mention it here. Pillows are always a gamble when you travel. The interior decor is perfectly appointed and historic in nature. There is lots of natural light that streams in to the common areas and rooms. The Inn is about two miles from all of the hot spots on Frenchman and Bourbon so we ubered easily to and from restaurants and bars. We enjoyed spending evenings on the rooftop deck before going out for dinner. Todd had fresh coffee brewed for us every morning…and he makes a mean Bloody Mary. If you're looking for a unique, unparalleled, and authentic New Orleans experience, you must stay here!

Had such a great stay at Inn at the Old Jail. We came in as a group of 9 guys doing a fantasy football draft and the Inn exceeded our expectations! Highly suggest reaching out to Todd for a group experience as it will be one of the best places you can stay if you'd like to take over an entire hotel and have the whole place to yourself. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and the entire place is well thought out! Definitely look forward to staying here again!!
