I had a consultation with Jess to come up with a game plan. Once there, she had everything ready when I arrived. The scalp massage and shampooing was icing on the cake. She did balayage, highlights, glaze and a cut. Thank you!

Got my hair and makeup done here for a wedding. I liked the makeup more than the hair, but overall just didn’t think it was great quality, especially for the price.Service: Updos

Claudia is my girl! Been seeing her for years. I have long thick hair and she anticipates what I want every time. I originally saw her when I moved from another city. Nervous since it's always a gamble going to someone new. She took the time to get on the same page as me and errors on less is more approach. I love this b/c you can always take more away but you can't add hair!! I've been seeing her ever since, highly recommend!

I had loc maintenance with Symphony yesterday and everything was just so lovely. The salon is gorgeous, the staff is super fun and friendly. Great funky vibe in the heart of downtown! Symphony did an excellent consult, listened to my worries, and delivered the best most relaxing retwist of my life. I'll for sure be back every month ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Got my hair cut here back in August and loved it! I had just moved to New Orleans and was in DESPERATE need of a hair cut and was worried about having to find a new hair stylist. So glad that I found Madison De Cheveux! Had my hair done by Jessica and she did an amazing job! Looking forward to my next cut!

I went to this salon to get a blowout for my birthday. The salon is super cool and funky, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and my hair was amazing! It looked exactly how I wanted. Jessica is very skilled, knowledgeable and communicative and is a fantastic stylist.

Where to begin... My then bride to be asked me to plan a simple "just the two of us" wedding as she can get easily overwhelmed. I took on the task like a champ and planned a cute, romantic French Quarter wedding in a small quaint chapel as only you can find in amazing New Orleans. I ordered the cake, flowers, harpist, minister, photographer...the works! I then took her dress, shoe, and accessory shopping. I booked the hotel and flights...I thought of everything!! Then the day before we flew out as we were running some last minute errands she was on Facetime with her daughter. I noticed a tear coming down her cheek so I tuned into the conversation. Her daughter, who could not go to New Orleans was trying to show her mom how to put on makeup. My gorgeous fiancé did not use makeup often but wanted to look extra special for the occasion. She was not understanding the instruction and was feeling self-conscious and embarrassed. This is the point where I understood how bad I messed up. I did not think of everything, in fact I left out the most important part. I could never have imagined how she could find herself anything less than perfect so the thought of getting her "made up" never crossed my mind. I had to rectify this... immediately! The very same morning we were flying out I was scouring the internet for salons in New Orleans... one by one.. as I called.. they were all booked up. Going down the list I came to Maison De Cheveux but the answer was the same. In a weird twist of faith I redialed their number a few minutes later. I asked the same questions not realizing I was talking to the same person at a number I previously dialed. She picked up on the desperation in my voice and compassion kicked in as if we were in a romantic comedy movie. "When does your flight get here". "We want to help". "Can you be here by 5"? We will wait for you". We literally got off the plane and went straight there. What we found was amazing professionals at the top of their game. More importantly we found new friends. They spent 4 hours pampering her in everyway... we laughed.. we cried.. we felt as if we were the most important people on earth. Our wedding was at 11:00 at night, it was magical and she looked like a movie star!.... Thank you Maison De Cheveux! Words cannot express how truly amazing you are!!

While visiting New Orleans last month I realized I badly needed a blowout to tame my humidity induced frizzy locks. Clint at Maison De Cheveux came to the rescue! He was friendly, easy to talk to and professional. The shampoo and blowout were top notch and my hair looked great, even on day three! The helpful receptionist assisted with directions via streetcar from my hotel in the Garden District and went out of her way to actually meet me on the street when I somehow missed my stop! If I lived locally, I would absolutely return time and again for all services. When I return, I plan to make Maison De Cheveux my first stop!NOTE: They do charge extra to use hot tools, so the price is upwards of $70. Worth every penny!

My hair is naturally curly, tends to be frizzy and is difficult to style. I'm in my 60s, with a mix of textures and varying degrees of volume. With the wrong cut, it loses the curl and becomes a mass of wiry fronds. After listening to my concerns, James stepped in and gave me the best hair cut I've ever had. He gave me my curls back. No more frizz! The prices are affordable and the hair products they sell are wonderful. Thank you, Maison De Cheveux!

I went here for a styling after reading reviews. I walked in minutes early for my appointment and checked in and was told to wait on the couch. I waited patiently and was ignored until at least ten minutes after my appointment time when I heard another stylist ask my stylist, “isn’t that your client?” and then they remembered I was there waiting. My stylist did a great job with the styling of my hair. What wasn’t great was how he nearly poked me in my eyes which he apologized for and then when he struck me in the temple and orbit with a hot curling iron and then gaslit me by telling me “it wasn’t that bad” and “it looked fine.”I paid for my service and tipped him since accidents happen and he styled my hair appropriately but called the salon the following day to let them know there was in fact a burn on my face which I was upset about after knowing I was burned but being gaslit. The salon said the incident wasn’t reported by the stylist as it should have been at the time and that they would call me back. It’s 10 days later and I’m still waiting.Service: Hairstyling

It's really a hard pill to swallow when you're paying good money to get a simple cut and get the obligatory lectures and talking down to on basic haircare, only to have the expert (I had to pay more for the higher level stylist) turn around and use high heat up close on every inch of my very fragile hair. I was incredibly clear on the fragile condition my colored hair was in. Now I have a ton of "flyaways" sticking out at all lengths all over the place due to the length being cooked off. My longer swoop bang (which was never addressed) was cooked off to a wisp and laying limp with no body or shape. Now the texture of my hair is course and frizzy. I was never asked where I part my hair, and when I decided to announce it instead, was told "it won't matter because of how I'm cutting your hair." I was getting a blunt cut. So I'm pretty sure it does matter. I'm really not sure what the point of taking the time and money to go to an expert is. I've been successful at being gentle with my hair when brushing and drying for years now. It really isn't that hard. My whole reasoning in getting a cut was to trim off the dry and damaged at the bottom. But all that happened was that I sacrificed long hair for damaged hair all over. I would have preferred to keep my length and my money. Not to mention what I'll be spending on conditioners and smoothers while my hair stays in a bun for three months. No matter what the condition of your hair going in is, you should never leave a cut and blowout with it more damaged. Period. Like my stylist said about hair as I sat in the chair, "Once it's gone, it's gone."
