My friends and I reserved a time slot for jewelry making on Saturday, and had THE best time! We were (pleasantly) overwhelmed by the extensive selection of every kind of bead and charm available. If we wanted a bead turned into a charm, they could do it. If we wanted a gold loop instead of silver, they could do it. Caroline helped us the whole time, checking in with us while we looked, taught us how to put on jump rings then assemble our charm bracelets. We will definitely go back!!! The bracelets turned out amazing.

Love this place! So many beads, pendants, charms, etc.! The staff is so patient and helpful, and (BELIEVE ME) I asked A LOT of questions and needed A LOT of help. Every time I stop in, I spend hours here just frolicking!

I'm kicking myself for not getting into jewelry making sooner! Well no worries- our artistic journeys are all different! Few weeks ago I had an idea for matching charm necklace sets. Got all the charms, chains and hardware necessary and at the end of my selection I asked if the salesperson could demonstrate how to successfully open and close jump rings as I had been having problems. They showed me the "trick" and now it's easy peasy! I want to make ALL the things now! Yesterday I went back because there was an amazing piece that inspired me to make another necklace. This time the sales girl helped me with how to wire gemstones and to use a nail file to eliminate any wire barbs. Not only is the selection of beads, stones and assorted charms wide and varied, prices are reasonable and discounts are offered to black masking Indians as they require A LOT OF BEADS. I'm pleased to learn something new and HELPFUL every time I'm in! Thanks!

I was drug there against my will. My wife and daughters love this place. If you are into beads and making jewelry, this is the place. If not, there is a bar right down the road.

We had our son’s 8 year old birthday party. Casey organized everything and made the entire experience so fun! I highly recommend The Bead Shop for birthday parties or just to shop! Super eclectic store in New Orleans. Tons of food places close by too.

The last time I was in a proper bead shop was in Huntington Beach, California and that was in 1975. Owner Georgia has set up a jewelry lovers dream in her "The Bead Shop" located on Magazine Street. I've been a couple times to grab "Bad Baby" necklaces by local artist MiscellaneousMae, but I was always in a rush. This time though, I was cashing in a gift certificate that I had received years ago. years, not months, years.....plural. Would it even be valid? I was giddy to find out my 15$ was indeed still valid, the staff giggled at it because it was so old. So this artist got to shopping. Staff member Sarah was really helpful and answered all my questions, gave me a mini knot tying lesson (by gum, I've been knotting incorrectly forever), explain why and which strings to use, she told me about classes and beading appointments. Maybe you aren't the do it yourselfer,no problem. They have tons of premade items or kits it you want to give it a go. It's just one bead at a time for me....soon I'll be overly addicted.....In a good way.

Fair prices and many unique pieces. There's also a wide selection of the fundamentals which many shops forget about it an effort to stand out. This place has a good balance

This is one of those places that *I know* I've reviewed previously but poof it's gone. Bead shop is a great spot to buy: beads (duh), jewelry making supplies, beading kits, jewelry, local art, crystals, and a host of other things. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is CHOCKFUL of stuff so leave the big bag at home because you'll be knocking stuff over with it. Not only do they have a masking Indian suit in the window, they offer discounts to these NOLA culture bearers. Remember to use their baskets and little baggies so you don't have to retrace your steps and figure out how much things cost. (Been there done that.)Parking is on the street.

The decision to check out this shop was purely curiosity. We didn't need anything... until we walked in. In an instant, the line between want and need was blurred and we didn't know what to do with ourselves. Lost a couple of hours in here since we didn't come in with a plan and turned into kids at a candy store. Huge selection of beads and jewelry making tools and accessories. Clear labels and pricing. Super friendly and helpful staff. There's a space in the back that you can reserve to make your jewelry in house.
