I got my car towed to this shop on a Monday because my car wasn’t going into drive or reverse. So, I thought it was a transmission problem. The owner told me that one of his guys called out of work so he wouldn’t be able to start working on my car until Tuesday morning . I told him that was fine! I just want to know what was going on with my car. Tuesday morning passed and I still didn’t receive a call. So, I pass by the shop and I noticed my car was still sitting where the tow truck left it. So, I called the office and all I can hear is dogs barking in the background! The guy told me he will help the customer and the office and get the dogs calm in call me back. But he never called back. I called him back after a couple hours and he told me that they had just finished installing a transmission for a customer so, they didn’t get a chance to work on my car but they will check it out tomorrow! Wednesday morning came still no call. So, I sent my husband to the shop so he can speak to someone. When he arrived he saw one of the mechanics sitting in the car completing a diagnostic test. They told him they would give us a call once they figure out the codes. Shortly after the guy in the office gave me a call in told me that they had received some codes back but he still didn’t understand what they mean so he will give me a call back. Never received a call. Couple hours later the same guy in the office text me and said if I want updates on the car to message him. I responded,Did you guys ever figure out the codes? He replied “ After looking more into those two engine codes and not seeing any obvious damage to the water pump itself they are thinking it could possibly be electronic related. So to further look into this issue we may have to wire trace and see if we can locate the electrical issue that way. Also the module that controls the water pump could be shot from the engine running hot and frying the electronics controlling the cooling.” I told him okay keep me posted! Thursday morning the guy in the office called me and said they were still working on my car and he would let me know when they find out the problem. I said okay! Later that day, I passed by the shop in saw that my car was still sitting in the same spot in front of the shop and no one was working on it. So, I called the guy in the office in told him that I needed to know what was going on with my car by the end of the day. Later, that day he sent another message saying “ So we are done with our initial diagnosis and now they have me putting together a few different repair estimates while they research the issue further. Replacing the gas pedal sensor, throttle body and water pump is what they are suggesting right now. But they are researching the issue to narrow down if all 3 components need to be replaced or if we can save you some money and replace just that one faulty component. So by this afternoon I’m going to have the final verdict for you. Thank you for being patient. I told him okay keep me posted! Finally, that evening the owner call me and said he figured out the issue and it would cost me over $600.00. I told him no thank you! my husband will be their tomorrow with a tow truck. He called me back and said that he can just fix a simple problem to get the car back running in that would be 200 plus dollars. I told him No thank you. Because by this time I was FED up with this shop! So, today I went back to pick my car up with a tow truck in the owner called and told me that oh I did get your car back running properly last night. But at first you told me it would be over 600.00!! This place is OVERPRICED!! Your car will be here for probably a MONTH before it is repaired. CUSTOMER SERVICE is HORRIBLE and I would not RECOMMEND! It seems like they are all about MONEY! They made me pay 117.00 for a diagnostic fee! When my car is still not FIXED and it sat at their shop for a week! I hope it was worth losing what could have been a forever customer!

The key to good service and a good reputation is to make a good first impression on a customer and provide a quality service in a respectful time frame. That is EXACTLY what Ascension Transmission does. Service manager, Ty, is an awesome guy, very friendly and knowledgeable as to what he is talking about. He isn't the typical "just out to make more money" kind of guy. He's very down to earth and genuinely seems to care about his customers. From first contact, to dropping my vehicle off and having my service completed I would give Ascension Transmission a solid 10/10. I dont typically leave many reviews but when I feel I have been treated so well and am this impressed, I have to make it known. Keep up the good work guys, ill definitely be a repeat customer from here on out!

Actually selected this place on a whim. After I was given a quote I compared it to a few other transmission places and found out that this place pound-for-pound has quick work and good pricing for new transmissions with warranties. I was giving my car back in a less amount of time they quoted.

These gentlemen know how to earn and keep loyal customers! They aren't just honest and knowledgeable, they treated me like family. Mr. Ty was more concerned with my safety than my bank account, and Mr. Rick drove me home (to Maurepas!) so I could be comfortable while I waited for my repairs ~ which, by the way, were completed the same day I brought my truck in! The owner had his hands on my truck throughout the course of the job, and personally took it out for a spin before I left the garage. He cares more about building relationships than wealth. Mr.Ty called this morning to follow up to make sure all was well with my truck! My doctor doesn't even do that! I WILL be back!!!

Brought my Honda Fit in on a Thursday, and I picked it up repaired on Friday. The repair job was for a broken clutch fork. The mechanic, Ty, was very helpful and was in continuous contact throughout the job. I'm writing a week later, and everything is in tip top shape. Highly recommended!

one late evening I stopped in to see if I can get some help on repair of my truck transfer case. I had walked in and talked to Robby about my problem and without a hesitant he was glad to help me out that second. I recommend this shop to do all repairs simple to big! THANKS !
