My move in experience at UC was AMAZING! The staff was and continues to be so helpful and supportive! I’m a LA Tech student and have never lived away from home and I was so nervous about not having any roommates. Not sure how they matched us up but my roomies and I could not be more perfect for each other! We found each other on IG after we were matched and couldn’t wait to meet in person! 2 of us are Tech students and 2 are GSU students but we all clicked instantly! I see a couple of reviews saying that the staff was not prepared for the amount of students moving in but what I witnessed on move in day was the staff unprepared for the amount of rude and pushy parents! My mom and I witnessed a group of parents corner the manager, Miss Odessey in the stairway while she was helping other students get out in their apartment and literally scream at her because they “thought “ UC was strictly for Tech students only and were upset that there were so many ”Grambling kids” living here . They did this right in front of GSU students who were also moving in next door…so rude! Miss Odessey handled it with grace even though they were screaming at her to the point where my mom had to intervene! She apologized to us and the GSU students who had to witness the attack. She and her staff are the reason we plan to stay at UC! Good vibes. Fun atmosphere.Great staff!

Another review was very accurate, nice staff that try to keep a friendly atmosphere and provide activities and get-togethers but SEVERLY underprepared for the amount of people moving in.

Rough start at UC- first apartment assigned was disgusting. There was 6 month old milk in the fridge. I’m not kidding when I say the milk was green. Trash everywhere and misplaced/stolen furniture. It literally looked like squatters were living there. The second apartment, that I’m living in now, wasn’t much better. Smelled terribly of smoke and the carpets were disgusting. Not move in ready whatsoever! It took UC a month past move in date (no prorated rent btw and I had to commute from Monroe for a few weeks) to replace the carpets. Several things were still broken but it was livable. I will say, it has gotten much better as time has passed. They are doing a bunch of extra activities that are super fun and we have been visited personally by the management team for a hospitality check. It is not all bad by any means, just extremely poor preparation before the mass influx of college students in August.

This place is beyond trifling. From the appearance, appliances, and also the maintenance/management team. Moved in two months ago, still here without working appliances in the unit. My unit was a mess and had dirty carpet, mold growing, and a broken bathroom faucet. The maintenance team does the bare minimum to try and say they completed a task which ends up being half ass done. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a hurt dog. Stay away!

We get here on move in day, young man sitting under tent yelling and screaming, getting so upset. Instead of signs saying, please park in front of your building and then get your key. Get to our building, told to check if it’s open first, because the contractors didn’t leave all the keys!! Lies, lies, lies. 3rd floor brought all the stuff up, walk in and WHAT?!?! Filth, trash, crutches, brooms, used razors, refrigerator FULL of food. Tell the lady working and she said it was a contractor and he was supposed to clean before he left at 6am. So you were going to put my daughter in a dirty apartment? They move us to another unit, we have now been between 85-96 degreees for four days. My husband called 14 times, he finally spoke to manager today. I waited for her at the apartment, no show. This is disgraceful, unacceptable, most of all inhumane. I feel bad for these kids. The living conditions here are uninhabitable.

The absolute worst! My child was told they don’t have keys to their apartment or rooms. Still and they moved in Saturday. Unacceptable how are they to go to school and can’t lock their belongings. The room was filthy. It’s as if whomever moved out after they moved no one came to do a room inspection. The blinds looked like a kid sprayed their juice box on it and no one cleaned up. The carpet was the worst the bathroom seat was just placed on there not even screwed down on the toilet. The vents were covered in dust and probably mold. Front door had mold. UNACCEPTABLE for people to live in. The cleanest place in my child room was the closet.
