A beautiful place. It was as if driving into another place entirely. I fell in love with the pond House there's a particular feeling when you walk into the door. Like a warm welcome home. Me and my two-year-old enjoyed laying on the hammock as she napped either the hottest point of Summer it was perfect. I will be back for a longer stay in more exploring the grounds.

The plantation is a beautiful place. The grounds are beautiful, well kept with so many trees and rolling hills. Perfectly quiet. The cabin we stayed in was pretty old. Some people might like that but I guess I'm spoiled, I like to stay in something up to date, more modern. There were nicer cabins of course, but they were already rented. The owner is a wonderfully nice person. If you're looking to get away for a weekend, I highly recommend Butler Greenwood

We loved our stay at Butler Greenwood. We had the pool pavilion. The kids thoroughly enjoyed having the pool to themselves. Luke the goose was a treat. He was pretty fond of my husband and seemed to enjoy sitting with him at the beautiful pond. The trees are absolutely gorgeous and it was so peaceful & relaxing. Breakfast consisted of oatmeal, croissants, juice & milk. I was hoping for a better breakfast but that's because I was comparing it to others we've experienced. Overall our stay was beautiful and I recommend it.

The cottages are a bit dated. They need some paint and fixing. But we really enjoyed our stay at this peaceful place. We stayed in the pool pavillion, a large cottage. There was a grill so we did some barbaque and sat on the veranda of the pool pavillion. We also made friends with some friendly geese living at the plantation.

I recently stayed in the Cook’s Cottage at Butler-Greenwood, and it made what otherwise might have been a stressful visit to Louisiana absolute Heaven. While traveling to St. Francisville from Baton Rouge just before dark, the alternator in my truck gave out. Luckily, it did so within reach of a truck stop just south of St. Francisville. I felt I needed to call the host of my accommodations for the night, Miss Anne Butler at Butler-Greenwood, to let her know what had happened and that I would be late checking in. Not only did she drive the 10 miles south to Star Hill LA to pick me up and bring me safely to my cottage, but she made it possible for me to remain in my wonderful cottage for an additional two nights while my vehicle was repaired in town! Now THAT’S what I call a high-quality innkeeper! Plus, during my extended stay, I got to watch scenes from a movie being filmed inside and on the front lawn at this wonderful old home. Miss Anne’s cottages (she has 8!) are all like home-away-from-home with a lot of living space and every amenity you could possibly need (big bed, full living room, woodburning fireplace – which I prefer over the big screen TV or WiFi which are also available, full kitchen, hot tub and shower, deck, swing, and the most beautiful grounds to wander and enjoy coffee, peace, and quiet (broken only by the occasional honk of a resident goose near the pond). Butler-Greenwood is absolutely amazing, and I plan to return again and again (but likely in a new vehicle next time!).

We had an amazing stay at this plantation. Such a peaceful and beautiful little retreat and yet so easily accessible. We stayed in the pool house and had the pool to ourselves all night! Great value for money. We also enjoyed the bed that was very comfortable and gave us a great nights sleep. Thank you again for hosting us!

It was beautiful weather. And such a quiet place to chill out and recharge. We read a bit, played games and just enjoyed the geese on the pond and took a few walks through the beautiful ground. The white iris' and the azaleas were in full bloom. It was a cottage with the patina of a by gone era. We totally joined our stay.

Anne Butler of Butler Greenwood Plantation - Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful host and author. If your unaware St. Francisville is a quaint town full of historic plantations, gardens, stunning landscapes, mom & pop shops, delicious restaurants and more recently the film location for a couple movies. This is our secret escape from the city. It is no cookie cutter chain instead each cottage is private, fully equipped, and individually decorated. The grounds are full of magical landscapes, wildlife, and most importantly PEACE. We enjoy watching the ducks in pond, listening to various birds, taking pictures of the beautiful flowers and looking out for several deer. The cottages are always clean and include breakfast stocked in the kitchen. Most have double jacuzzis, have more than 1 bedroom, and porch/patio/deck to enjoy the grounds. We can’t say enough good things about Butter Greenwood and always recommend it to our friends & family.

Love love LOVE this place! My husband surprised me with a weekend away here. We stayed in the pool cottage. The property was gorgeous and the cottage had plenty of room. There was a craft fair in town that weekend, and I bought these bath bombs for the double jacuzzi in our cottage, and just soaked and read a book. SO RELAXING! The location is really convenient to everything nearby also. We can't wait to go back again.

All of the comforts and luxury of home await the guests in each cabin. The two person whirlpool tubs are amazing, especially after a day of hiking at Clark's Creek. The serene pond beautifully displays turtles, ducks, and fish that inhabit it. It was so enjoyable to feed the turtles croissants in the morning while enjoying a cup of coffee. Butler Greenwood is the perfect peaceful getaway place.

I loved it here! I wish I could stay longer. We rented the pool house and loved it. We got lucky and didn't have to share the pool with anyone else. We had 7 people and we were comfortable. The view and atmosphere were devine. We will definitely stay again.
