And from the time we walked in- during treatment- and after care we were always contacted and kept up to date. They took such great care of our Millie and CAN NOT RECOMMEND them enough!!! Dr was GREAT chair side and with explaining and answering All of our many questions. The front desk ladies were so welcoming and helpful! (Hopefully we won’t be back;) but if we do we will DEFINITELY be back! Thanks Doc and team for loving our fur baby as much as we do!”

It can get crazy in there with how many pets come through on a daily basis but the staff there knows how to keep it all running exceptionally well. Prices are very fair. We will drive 40 min out of our way for vet and boarding services from Azalea, and thats with another clinic within a 30 second walk from the house.”

They only have one appointment at a time, so we never have issues with other animals in the lobby, especially if we call before going inside. In 2008, Dr. Jessica O'Neil joined the practice and became our primary veterinarian.We implicitly trust Dr. O'Neil's medical and physical treatment of our cats and suggestions related to psychological issues (home and vet anxiety and home territorial issues etc.).For 18 years, Dr. O'Neil has taken care of our cats. Over these years my husband and I have a formed a collaborative relationship with Dr. O'Neil regarding the overall care of our catsDr. O'Neil has become family to us.In 2009 our beloved cat, Lil Bit, and had to be put to sleep. Dr.O'Neil was Lil Bit's doctor so we had an understanding that she would be the one to euthanize him.When that day came, it was Dr. O'Neil's day off; nonetheless, she found a babysitter for her toddler son and came to the hospital. The heartbreak of losing Lil Bit was eased by Dr. O'Neil's presence.Our overall experience with Dr. O'Neil and the Highland Road Animal Hospital staff office has been excellent.”

I have bad allergies and she grooms him to help with his shedding. He's always so soft and smells so good when I pick him up. I would highly recommend her. I have never used the vet though, so I am not sure about that.”

I was able to get my baby in as soon as I called and they were very sweet and helpful. It has only been a week and he is back to his normal self. They even offered to help medicate and syringe feed him whenever I needed as well as checking up on him. I'm so thankful for the amazing vet techs and doctors here!”

“We are slowly getting back to normal and catching up on things we need to do at home. Peggy and I would like to thank Animal Medical Center, Dr. Jenny Thistlethwaite Troutman, Dr. Patrick Thistlethwaite, and the staff for taking such good care of our cats while we were on vacation. They all treat us like family there and we never have to worry about our animals while we are away. “This vet clinic is very genuine. They truly care about well being of your pets. I go to LSU and my pups normal vet is in New Orleans. I called them when my dog had a tumor and they had a same day appt. they made sure my pup wasn't traumatized. They kept giving him treats and telling him he is a good boy when sticking the needle in the tumor. They wanted to clean his ears but they decided he had enough of a hard time that day and to wait on it. I'm glad they truly cared about him not being overwhelmed or stressed. They even called a few days later to check on him. Now today, day after thanksgiving I'm in New Orleans and his Nola vet was closed and he has had diarrhea for over a day. So I called highland road for adivce. They were so helpful. If I lived in Baton Rouge after this semester I would be using them as his normal vet. Great vet clinc, super genuine.”

“My dachshund is 13 years old and we move around a lot, so she has been to many vets. Dr. Kleinpeter and Dr. Cothron are hands down the best we have ever come across. They are very thorough and take the time to listen to your concerns about your pet and answer all your questions. They give a personalized plan of care based on your pet's specific needs and medical history. I know when my dog is with them or their staff that she is in good hands. They really do make you feel like your pet is their family also. My dog had surgery today. Alexandra and Dr. Cothron kept me updated all the way through. They calmed my nerves and listened to my panicked concerns prior to surgery when I dropped my dog off. Then they updated me right before surgery was going to start on the phone, and called me again as soon as the surgery was over to relieve my stress. I was able to meet with them again while picking my dog up to address any other concerns for discharge. I really appreciated it!! Another great thing about this vet is they don't over charge like some of the other vets in this area do. I took my dog to Perkins Road Vet hospital to get a quote on her surgery, they were going to charge OVER THREE TIMES MORE than what it cost here at Kleinpeter vet, and they were very rush rush to get it scheduled without doing a full assessment. One last thing I love about this place is how clean and bright this facility is.”

“Absolutely wonderful! The vet I normally visit had no appointments open, but my dog needed same day care. They worked with me to get my dog in as early as possible. My dog is large and sporadic, and has lots of energy so he is sometimes hard for me to handle on my own. One of the receptionists held him for me while I filled out paperwork, and they did the same when I was checking out. Everyone was so nice and caring while I was there. Dr. Berryhill was extremely thorough, but didn't go overboard on unnecessary diagnostic testing. The pricing is reasonable, I paid less here than I did at my old vet. This is a fabulous establishment! I honestly can't even remember the name of the vet we have previously used, but I will certainly remember Dr. Berryhill for a long time to come!”

Even with the challenges that Cove it has brought many businesses, I’ve been able to schedule appointments relatively quickly, and the vets have always taken the time to speak with me whether it’s in person or over the phone if I dropped off. I they’ve always been pretty upfront with me about costs, and won’t do anything unless I explicitly give authorization for the charges. I appreciate their thoroughness, and will continue bringing my pup to this location.”
