In 2023 we had our beloved dog scheduled for a teeth cleaning procedure and a rectal mass removal at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Slidell, Louisiana. Proceeding the surgery, my dog was having bowel control issues along with rectal bleeding. Soon after that, she became lethargic and was moving poorly. Due to these issues, we took her back to the Banfield Pet Hospital on three separate occasions after the surgery to be examined. Each of those three visits she was treated with an antibiotic and probiotics for stomach upset and bowel irritation. Exactly four weeks post surgery she started hemorrhaging from her rectum uncontrollably. We immediately took her to be seen at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Slidell that same day and again she was treated with an antibiotic and probiotics for stomach upset and bowel irritation. We ended up going to MedVet in Mandeville and the vet there immediately detected a rectal fleshy mass with scant bleeding on the left side of her rectum internally. We decided to have her euthanized the next day due to her quality of life, pain, and suffering. My compliant with Banfield Pet Hospital in Slidell is that the vets didn’t adequately examine, assess, and treat my dog pre & post surgery, which was a substantial factor that led to her hemorrhaging. Specifically, my complaint is that the vet should’ve detectedthe internal mass that was found by the vet at MedVet. The vets were negligent and misdiagnosed my dog.

The company as a whole do not show consistency or competence! I was charged for a medication for my chihuahua, and when asked about it they told me that Dr. Cross or no other staff member gave it to her I also explained that I never received it either so what do I need to do so that she's given what I thought was an important enough medication that they did charge for it I payed but the meds was never given and when asked what do I need to do they just said well will take off the charge ,but that's not the issue if my beloved pet needed a shot or a pill for a reason why did they dismiss it so quickly!!!!!!A very concerned pet parent!???

Horrible horrible service. I'm extremely distraught right now. I have been bringing my cats here for years and paid them hundreds of dollars for services they did not even do at times. When I first started here they were a different place. You could meet with the vet like a normal person and have a normal appt. You were assured of their care for your pet before leaving your pet in their care. Not anymore. The last time my cat came out with a choke collar on her and they claimed they couldn't get it off. I took it off immediately with no resistance. I was willing to overlook this because I had been bringing my cats here since 2018. I made an appt for my new kitten, with the stipulation that it be a regular appt, not a drop off. They assured me that it was a regular appt. They lied. When I got there today, with a very stressed and upset cat, they refused to have an appt and demanded that it just be a drop off. Don't bring your pets here unless you want to be lied to, ripped off, and stressed to the max for extremely poor customer and vet service by people who do not care about animals or you at all but rather about the $ and their own agendas.

Very unorganized there was no disclosure to what they were doing I had a coupon for an office visit they told me they wouldn't honor it and that my 4:00 appointment I could not be seen until 6:00 it was the worst that experience I've ever had in my life and I suggest to anyone go anywhere but there please and I've been raising dogs for 45 years and by far this is the worst that hospital I have ever come across and I won't even go into PetSmart now because that's where they're located this is an honest and true objective observation of this facility

Banfield pet hospital in Slidell La petsmart was absolutley amazing with my 10 week old female puppy Stripe! She hurt her leg and they were able to get her a x-ray and appointment the same day! The x-ray was about $450.00 and they did a wellness check and prescribed an anti-inflammatory and my total was about $461.00. Which may seem like a alot and they said they could work out a payment plan but luckily I had enough to pay it off but it was completely worth it! The staff and the doctors at this location are amazing and so great at any customer questions or complaints. Thank you so much to everyone at the Slidell La Banfield pet hospital located in the petsmart! Me and Stripe are so grateful for all your support!
