I had a very frustrating and unprofessional experience at this Dollar General location between 9:00 and 9:45 p.m. I sent my teenage daughter in to purchase scotch tape, but she accidentally bought packaging tape instead. I immediately sent her back in to return it, but the cashier told her she couldn’t process a return without a receipt.
My daughter explained that the cashier had just asked her if she wanted a receipt, and she said no — so the cashier threw it away in the small trash can right behind her. Since it had only been a minute or two, the receipt was still sitting right on top of the pile, clearly visible and within reach. Still, the cashier refused to retrieve it and process the return.
I then went inside to speak with the cashier myself and was met with extremely rude and dismissive behavior. She refused to get the receipt from the trash can, refused to provide her name or her supervisor’s name, and even laughed at me when I mentioned contacting corporate. She made it clear she didn’t care and said she wouldn’t be held accountable.
She was the only cashier working the front of the store at the time and behind the counter, so there should be no confusion about which employee I’m referring to, even though she refused to identify herself.
This kind of attitude and lack of basic customer service is unacceptable. I understand policies are in place for returns, but this situation could have been easily resolved with just a little common sense and courtesy. I hope corporate takes this seriously and provides proper customer service training at this location.

First of all, I don't waste time writing reviews unless I feel it is really worthy, outstanding, and jaw dropping old school friendliness. I was at Dollar General on Old Spanish Trail on April 11th, 2023..it was just about closing time.For anyone reading this...wow yall...I haven't seen people with positive management skills happy to serve their customers...in a VERY LONG TIME.the team of employees looked content and happy to be there. Rare. People nowadays usually look miserable no matter where you go...So I'm disabled...I'm epileptic...I'm not allowed to drive...it's by some odd luck I even got a ride up there to get a few things..I also splurged on some candles. By the time I got home, I realized I had left my candles there. Since it was hard to find a way up there, I called the store and asked if they could just put the candles back on my debit card (thinking it might be saved in system)...I found out I would still have to be up there with the card.Devon, the day shift Manager, offered up to bring them to my address after his shift. Yet another jaw dropping moment from this store! Not only that but the friendly smile, friendliness, and willingness to go that serious extra mile for me?? Just .. wow's me..it warms my heart.Thank you Dollar General on Old Spanish Trail

This location is always closed in the middle of the evening. Like it’s 7pm why are the doors locked. And this happens multiple times a week. Does corporate know that they just randomly close this location when they feel like it?!? This is ridiculous
