“Great food for price, would be great if they didn’t close at 5pm. Commuting from New Orleans back to Slidell I never make that 8-5 window. Have to have someone else get it for me.”

I have to say, in such a short amount of time, I’ve seen a huge improvement at this location! They now allow customers to see their weighted items and will let you know before checkout whether you’ve met the requirements or not.
Last month, I had honestly given up on coming here, but I must give credit where it’s due. Thank you to the owners and employees for listening to your customers and making positive changes. We really do love y’all, and it’s great to see customer feedback being taken seriously. And I must include that the owner did reach immediately when I posted my first review and addressed my concerns with respect and professionalism.

I had a concerning experience today (5/2 at approximately 2:45 PM) regarding pricing transparency. The store uses a small scale at the counter, but customers cannot clearly see the weight being measured, and all transactions are processed on a personal cell phone through a Square device, which makes it difficult to verify charges in real time.

During my purchase, I noticed discrepancies in how items were weighed and priced. For example, I selected a container of sarsaparilla that only contained 0.26 oz. When I asked if more was available, I was told no, so I proceeded with what was in the jar. However, I was charged for 0.50 oz instead. Additionally, other items I selected were consistently charged at higher weights (e.g., 0.70 oz, 0.60 oz, and 0.50 oz), despite my effort to follow purchasing guidelines.

This lack of transparency and apparent overcharging is concerning and SAD. I wonder if only certain ethnicities are overcharged by this particular employee, Briana, or if it’s everyone. 🤔 I’ve been here on 5 different occasions so far and this same lady is always treating me like I’m not in the store. But she explains things to others and speak when they walk in but none of that with me. I’ve had encounters with other employees as well as the owner and they all seemed to be welcoming and honest. I may return again but won’t purchase anything if this lady is working. She gives the place a very bad look.
