Happened up on the village. Had to stop when we saw the sign "live gators". What a treat. Lots of goodies in the shops. Great gifts to get. Wish the shops had websites to order from.

It is a nice little tourist trap area with a number of small shops and a pretty decent restaurant serving americana style county food and beignets.

This B and B is a rustic charmer in Sorrento, LA. It is a bit hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. That is my only compaint about the place. Once you get there, you'll find 8 cottages completely surrounded by woods. The cabins are very nice old "shotgun houses" that look like the homes in my old home town. They are decorated with what are now antiques, but look like the furnishings of homes from my youth. However the plumbing and air conditioning are completely modern. The place may not be luxurious, but it is authentic Cajun. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They made sure the cottages were fully equiped with all the conveniences. The breakfasts were offered at the nearby Cajun Village coffee shop. A lot of the locals eat here, and I can see why. The food was great, diner-style basics which you can custom order.I'd love to come back here some day.

This place is heaven! I don't want to leave but my husband is making me. This is great for families and couples. The cottages are amazing. Every detail. All the antiques and throw blankets that remind you of times. Theresa is so sweet and make you feel right at home.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting place along the Andouille Trail. Do not let the outside deceive you, our cottage was a gem to stay in. First, Veronica who we schedule our reservation with was ever so helpful and made sure everything was just right for our late night arrival. BTW, make sure you get excellent directions because the cottages are truly hidden. Our cottage was a joy to stay in and made for a great place to call home after exploring all over the local countryside and up and down the Mississippi river. The include breakfast at the Village Cafe was delicious and the shrimp etouffee omelette was wonderful. Ask for sausage gravy on you biscuit and you might be licking the plate clean, that good. Also, make sure to get a basket of the beignet fingers, they are a favorable treat. We will be back again in the future.

Stopped in to grab gumbo fixins before our quarterly gator wrasslin' tournament. Little did I know I would find true love right there in the gift shop of Cajun Village. Love can take many forms, and for me it came in the form of tiny dried shrimp stacked 4 fingers high in a Ziploc. These tasty morsels elevate more than just my heart rate.. Plus they double as excellent fish bait in a pinch.

They don’t allow kids under 12. I get that you can discriminate against age in real estate. Meh. Old people...
