Waited for 30mins, only to be told they forget about our order without a sorry. Then they forgot about a sandwich in our order. The food is mid at best. There was also sand in the oyster sandwich.

Delicious! We arrived late for lunch at about 2:00. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. The owner even came out to greet us. I didn't ask if she was responsible for all of the great recipes, but I can see the love in her eyes and her passion for feeding people well. There was all kinds of food available to purchase and cook at home as well. Local fish, shrimp, frog legs, smoked rabbit, sausage, and more. I only wish I had more room in my belly!Kid-friendliness: Great for kids

The overstuffed shrimp poboy: great bread, okay shrimp, needs some sauce. Huge portion: one sandwich could feed two grown men. Gumbo had a nice flavor. Good service.

Everyone with a dead face at the tables. You walk in and no one welcomes you. Devastatingly, we left without trying to order anything. Ramshackle.

Right down the road from Laura and Whitney plantations! Great fried food! I really liked the Crawfish Boudin Balls. I also enjoyed the Gator Nuggets with the honey mustard. The blonde lady who was on the cash register and running food, was super sweet and a great server! I highly recommend you stop here for a bite!

???⚪️⚪️⚪️It is a small souvenir shop, a grocery store and a restaurant all in one.For the dish of the day there was jambalaya accompanied by a salad, fried fish and a bowl of gumbo. It filled me up but it didn’t make me excited either!

We had alligator bites, fried okra, chicken gumbo, and seafood gumbo.Kids had fried shrimp with fries.Great food! The only thing is that the food took a little to long to come. But otherwise great food!!

I had 1/2 shrimp poorboy and cup of Gumbo. By far the best gumbo I have had since being in the area. Local reccomended this place said tastes like mom makes. Food was outstanding prices seemed a bit high.

We wanted to see "deep" America, and we were served!“Saloon” atmosphere, Cajun cuisine (forget the balanced meal, almost everything is fried), very friendly staff (it still takes a moment to assimilate the accent).Perfect stopover if you're visiting the Laura Plantation, and that's a good thing because there isn't much else around!Kid-friendliness: large room, high chairs available, we eat with our fingers ;)

Support local!Stopped into this restaurant following a visit to Laura Plantation and after reading some great reviews on Google.Food:Despite the many positive reviews I read on Google, the food was very much underwhelming.I had the half shrimp Po'boy, Andouille sausage gumbo and onion rings. The shrimp Po'boy was unremarkable. Unfortunately, during my time in Louisiana and Po'boys at several eating establishments, the sandwich just didn't live up to my expectations. The gumbo was OK but was heavy on the salt. Finally, the onion rings were completely generic. To our server's credit, she did advise that they were not homemade and instead made from frozen. We wanted to try the gator bites but were informed they were sold out. All in all, the food was disappointing.Service:The service was great. You order and pay at the cash and then seat yourself and wait for your order to be called. The server / cashier was warm and welcoming.Atmosphere:This store and dining room are something else. I mean that in the very best way. The photos speak from themselves.Summary:While my food wasn't anything to write home about, I didn't much care because I will always support local. I enjoyed visiting this place, experiencing the quirkiness of the dining room and simply enjoying the small town charm. I'm open to the possibility that I just didn't order the best tasting things on the menu. I would give this place another try if ever in the area again.
