I arrived to pick up my reservation and the sign on the door said that the clerk was delivering to dealerships and would be back in 10-20 minutes. I left for half an hour and returned to your employee locking the door and leaving again. He walked away without a word, left in a vehicle, and responded to no texts or calls. He returned with the same vehicle 45 minutes later. When he approached me at the door, he ignored me until I spoke, at which point he asked if I had a reservation, making zero eye contact. He then took his time finding the reservation, and ultimately said there wasn’t one. He didn’t look up once in the entire conversation, until I asked him to say hi to everyone at the unemployment office for me. I spoke with the insurance agency, who informed me he had canceled it the day before. Your establishment looks like a front for money laundering and your clerk appears to be running drugs. After my interaction with him, he gave my number to a health insurance scam company that has been leaving 10-30 calls on my phone a day since. This location is a gutter and the natural environment for the employee I endured on August 8. Pure trash. Get some standards.
P.S. I was not the only customer waiting. A woman from Bethel who had no ride home waited until she could wait no longer (had to work) so she walked across the bridge to Enterprise in Lewiston on an 80 degree day.

Didn't close my rental out properly. I had the rental car for 1 day while my car was at the body shop. That rental was covered by the other guys insurance. They didn't close it out and said I had it for 3 weeks. Charged my credit card $780 plus. I have spent the last two months trying to get my money back. First 2 times the manager didn't even do anything when she said she would then said she was told 7-10 business days. Waited that time then called corporate myself. Again 7-10 business days. Nothing went to the office told 24 hrs I'd have my money just called today supposedly they refunded it and I will get it in you guessed it 7-10 business day.

The new manager is rude and unfriendly, I have been a customer of hertz for a long time, she was giving me attitude because I told her I preferred the previous manager, the. She just refused to rent to me, this is unacceptable to have someone like her running hertz, I hope hertz reconsider her position and fire her if they want to do business

Im not quite understanding the negative reviews. I called Hertz at 330pm last night, they close at 5. I had just had a terrible experience with Enterprise. I'm getting a rental through insurance after I get rear ended, right. So after my awful experience with Enterprise, I called Hertz and explained the situation to them. Since it was late, they allowed me to get my declaration page the next morning and got me into a vehicle by 445pm. The insurance only covered a certain amount and I was given this vehicle for that price, since it was obvious none of this was my fault and it's stressful enough, and I don't have to pay out of pocket for anything. I felt like Seth and the whole team were very accommodating and definitely helped ease my stress levels through this nightmare I'm in. Thank you so much, truly. I will absolutely use you again in the future if I ever need.

Amazing customer service!! We were renting a SUV last minute to go see my parents in Maryland and they made sure we had a Tahoe for the kids. We have rented from them twice now in the last 3 months and I will only rent from HERTZ in Auburn, Maine now! Thank you for always helping me out and for providing it with a smile!

Made the reservation get there with more than enough money on my card they said they had to run a background check on my debit card... ok? And then demanded a major credit card. Not understanding the difference. One has actual money one is borrowed money so I'm not understanding how that works. At all. Couldn't get the information from us to do that prior to picking up the vehicle? How does that even make sense? It doesn't. Seriously ruined our trip plans. How do you even fail a debit card background check? I usually put atleazt 1000 a week on my card so how did that fail?

I was told on the phone that I could pay using a debit card and I even states it right in my email. I have zero credit because I never had a credit card and suddenly I was smacked with a question do I have a credit card? And I said no, I never used one and he just gave me attitude and gave me back everything forcefully, no smile on his face, not welcoming at all! I do have very good insurance, I have AAA Premier and the best coverage you can imagine and I get this kind of treatment , there are so many places that don't require credit cards...

I loved this experience from the start. I have always used Enterprise, but decided to try Hertz. Immediately I was very glad to have switched. The booking and pickup were both fantastic experiences. The rental duration was also great. I had to call and extend my rental, and that was also fantastic. The reason I am giving a 3 out of 5 has to do with the end of the rental, drop-off and billing. I brought my rental back and was waited on by Shawn at the Auburn, Maine, location. He printed me a receipt and I left. I reviewed my receipt and realized that the bill didn't make sense. I called and spoke with Cody. Cody was very unapologetic, and just kept telling me that the receipt was correct. There was a discrepancy from what he was seeing on his screen, and what was printed on my receipt and bank statement. He told me that it would take a few days for the billing to work itself out. I also told him that the tax was wrong. My taxable amount was $377, and at 10% tax, the tax total should be $37.7. It was showing as 44.73. He just kept saying that he was right, and his computer was right, and that's just how it was. I asked for the name of, and to speak with his manager. He told me his manager was Seth, and Seth wasn't there today, but he would have Seth call me sometime tomorrow. I asked Cody for his name, and Cody hung up on me without telling me his name. I called back and got Shawn on the phone. Shawn is the same person who cashed me out at return. Shawn is a manager, and was available right then. Maybe Cody didn't know who Shawn was, even though they work together in the same office, 10 feet apart. Shawn took the time to explain my receipt to me, he sent me a copy of what he saw on his screen, and also refunded me the difference in tax charges, because I was being overcharged in tax. Shawn was very good, he listened to me, and took the time to review what was happening, and corrected the mistake that had been made. If not for the experience I had with Cody being so rude and refusing to listen, and hanging up on me, and failing to provide basic customer service, I would have rated this rental a 5 of 5. Instead, because Cody ruined the experience, I am giving a 3 of 5.

This place gave me a car that has service required light on and not safe at highway speeds probably needs suspension work. I rented this to drive 800 miles and it is not safe. Do not rent from here unless it's emergency. All this and the car interior is disgusting I gave them a chance to fix it and they would not. This place is trash.
