Had a recent experience in shopping at Orphan Annies in Auburn, ME. It was overwhelmingly saturated, with things 4 & 5 deep, loaded cabinets and marvelous glass displays. The shop had had a truck run into it on one side, so they had to bring everything from that side that they could possibly fit. But so well organized, Dan knows where to find anything of special interest! I concentrated on sterling silverware and unique buttons. Will be returning in a few weeks, when I go back for the birth of a grandchild! He also has more inventory in a building just 2 blocks away, that is open Mondays from 10-1 with everything at 50%!

Always have the friendliest most knowledgeable staff. Their prices are always fair and they have a great wide array of museum grade inventory. Walking into their store or warehouse is like stepping back in time. If you are not a collector of antiques, once you have visited their store you will be. Almost impossible to leave there empty handed.

I went here last weekend, me and my mom came to Lewiston for the memorial and stayed for the shop. This place is incredible and they know there you know what. When I go back to Maine again I will definitely go into the shop. 10/10 highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful antiques. Well curated without being stuffy. Lots of eye catching and colorful glass, clothes, scarves, necklaces, time pieces of lots of different varieties, furniture, beautifully unique lamps and lighting, doo dads, etc. I could buy out the store. Unfortunately I can only have small parts of the store at a time D:The gent who was attending the register and to the store (I believe the owner but I'm not sure) was really nice. Never was pushy, but always a soft holler away and would pipe up without pressuring if he overheard something he could add in.I was very, very impressed. I am definitely going back.

I couldn't just pass by this shop because I have a sourdough starter named Orphan Annie, a feisty one of a kind, started during the pandemic. The highlight of this place is the really impressive collection of gorgeous stained glass Tiffany lampshades hanging from the ceilings of each room.... totally mesmerizing. Walking into this shop put me in a state of awe and felt like a walk down memory lane with each antique I discovered. The owner was very pleasant and guided me to the Hummels and Angels that were neatly displayed in glass cases and shelves. Jewelry from an era gone by captured my attention and all sorts of art deco was displayed neatly. I wish I had more time to explore this shop but my 89 y.o. mother was texting me! I'm glad that "Annie" prompted me to visit!

Magical experience, full of beauty, I HIGHLY recommend a visit to this amazing shop. The largest collection of vintage and antique glass I think I have ever seen. They also have pottery, antique clothing, kitsch, jewelry, ceramics..something for almost everyone. It is crowded full of fragile treasures, so you need to move slowly, cautiously and thoughtfully. Large bags and totes are not allowed in this shop with good reason. Friendly and helpful owner in the shop. I am looking forward to my next visit!

I went there to see if I could find another teacup and saucer for my collection. I found the prices were steep however giving it a real chance I continued to browse. All the cups and saucers I saw were stacked three high and other things were piled on top of each other. I proceeded to browse through the very close isles to see all the pretty pieces that were there, and the hem of my pea coat brushed against a demitasse cup, which caused the cup to fall and hit another dish Breaking both of them. My friend and I were going to ask the gentleman about a cup and saucer that we had seen at the beginning of our browsing, but before I could say anything the man from the store demanded payment for the items that were broken. I never laid eyes on the pieces or touched them with my own hands until after the incident.Wouldn’t one have insurance for a situation such as this? Needless to say, I never asked my question gave him the money he demanded and left the store. I went over this in my mind as to how I would handle this, to let people know that if you break it, you will buy it even though there was no sign for me to see. My friend never saw a sign either and if we had, we would’ve turned around and left. By the way, he claimed that no one has ever and I emphasize ever broken anything in that store. Honestly, I don’t know how it wouldn’t have happened before. My take away from this is, if the isles look like they’re too cramped up and stuff is stacked on top of each other turn around and leave. Honestly, I didn’t have the money to give that man for all that and I was a palled that he could demand payment when it’s something that he could’ve taken as a tax write off and probably will anyway… Regardless of what type of insurance he has, or doesn’t have.
