If I could leave zero stars I would. I do not recommend Paychex to any business owner-big or small. The customer service is nonexistent. I have not been able to speak to a human regarding an issue that has been ongoing for over a month. Very unprofessional and terrible customer service.

They don’t even deserve one star, if you lose access to your account and no longer have that phone number than the chat bots won’t help you, even when they say the will send you to a “real” person it’s a bot, they repeat questions if you send two messages just because the bot can’t comprehend two separate answers. They couldn’t help me get into my account even though THEY gave me the wrong security questions. Why would I pick “where did you have your wedding venue?” When I never got married. News flash I didn’t pick that question. It just gave me three random questions that I NEVER answered, I know what I chose for my questions yet that’s not what pops up when I need to answer them. I’m so done with this app and the chat bots that do NOTHING. Worst app with the worst service/help.

They don’t even deserve a one. I can’t get assistance from anyone - every person who was enthusiastic about signing me up has moved on. No one replies to emails.
I hired them because I needed seasonal help for a summer while I was undergoing cancer treatment after a recent diagnosis.
I canceled services in Jan 2025 and lo and behold - just got another invoice. These people won’t go away. Predatory

What a scam. Once you sign up they charge crazy amounts of fees for every different “service” then are completely incompetent when you call. Constant phone tag and being transferred back and forth. DO NOT USE FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Many errors made on employees paychecks. I've made numerous calls made to managers and haven't had anyone any calls returned or results. I do not recommend.

If you are a business owner and need payroll services, I would highly recommend not using Paychex, especially Alex Volovick he is our salesman after signing up with him he offered ZERO support and kept saying he would get back to us and never did. #stayaway

Paychex is awful. Every interaction is salesy and disingenuous. They leave out important information when getting you to sign up, and they’re not helpful at all on the back end. Customer service has no idea what they’re doing half the time, and everything that happens to your account is automated, so don’t expect any common sense when it comes to making adjustments to payroll. Really disappointing since they came recommended to me by my cpa. I should have read the reviews here before signing up

And they've withdrawn over 300$ out of my account without my approval for the most absurd charges after canceling them for catching in !
Watch your bank statements !

I had to use Paychex as required by a prior company affiliation. Now that my situation has changed, I can’t leave Paychex fast enough. Awful customer service, difficult to reach a person, constant mistakes. Then there’s a different dept for every little thing. I never talk to the same person twice. Not to mention the high cost for this poor service. Check out Gusto.

Horrible experience!!! Was signed up for a service I never wanted or asked for. When my first payroll was run I specifically asked what money would be taken out. I was assured only the taxes because I don’t have direct deposit. Then all of a sudden the entire payroll was taken out, even though it was explained to me that the checks would only be removed early if I did direct deposit. The money would be removed when the employees cashed them.After calling and sending numerous emails there was no response from payroll “specialist” I was also charged for running my pistol even tho I was offered 6 months free if I switched over, should have been a red flag they were giving it away

I trusted this payroll company and they were not collecting the proper taxes had no excuse besides they made a mistake and put the company in a terrible situation right before the holidays

Worst possible service. Staff is clearly overwhelmed. So many mistakes are made and there is no access to someone who actually knows how to fix anything or work their system. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
