terrible service. no one ever in office. waste of almost $300.00 for one week of storage. I moved out due to no communication and when they started adding charges ....
They would not refund any money either
I would not recommend them at the Stillwater Bangor location.

$30 hidden one-time fee. Have to bring your own lock as well, keep in mind! Also requires insurance which was not known. Had to use their extra plan for about $20/mo. Definitely do not recommend. Expected to pay $60, ended up paying $130! Outrageous. Beyond disappointed and feel scammed.

DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES, BAIT AND SWITCH, misleading website, nuisance phone calls, office closed during posted hours, customer service refused to provide manager’s contact info, never got full refund. $2.5 billion company fights us over $46.
We saw a 10x10 unit from Prime Storage Bangor (PSB) priced as $107 per month with a free first month, on sale from $152. The website repeatedly showed “$107 / mo,” without any fine print or indications of future changes, which led us to believe the continuous monthly rate would be $107. We reserved two weeks prior to the move in date.
In that time, we got SEVEN phone calls - 4 calls in 2 days. Amanda wanted to know if we had questions, and to call back if we did. We didn’t, so we didn’t call. The calls kept coming with the same message.
On the move in date, we paid the admin and insurance fees of $46. The receipt said $107/mo. We got an online lease agreement, with a $152/mo rate. We didn’t sign. We found fine print stating the sale was only for the first month, but it was free anyway. That was NOT openly stated or linked during the reservation process. It can only be found by scrolling under the units, facility features, directions and hours, “about us” section, customer reviews, and only then can you see the fine print of those sales. We went to the office for a refund.
We got to PSB at 11:30. The office was closed during posted hours - dark, doors locked, no signs of life, and no sign on the door. We called PSB at 11:44, but it called the customer service center. I said nobody was there. The rep offered to finish the process to give us a code. I told her that we needed a refund. She said the office had to do that. She said the employee was likely on a building check, and she’d have them call us back.
Over an hour, no staff or calls. We called from the property again at 12:59. The new rep said they had lunch from 1-130. I told her the situation. She said it was unusual, and she’d let a manager know. She offered a call back, and I asked for a refund. She’d notify the District Manager (DM) to approve a refund within 3-5 days. She’d send us an email for the refund and the DM would call us - never happened.
Next day, we messaged their Contact Us email at 11:55. The website contained deceptive marketing, and we needed a refund. Someone emailed at 12:04 and offered to redo the lease agreement at $106 per month because of a mistake. We accepted, but quickly recanted due to the red flags. We reiterated wanting a refund. They said, “To apologize for your experience, we can offer you an extra 10% off your monthly rate if you decide to rent with us.” They essentially acknowledged that we weren’t renting with them and still held our money. We asked when to expect the refund. They refunded the $17 insurance, but not the admin fee.
I called at 3:31 for the DM’s contact info. We wanted him instead of a goose chase. The rep wouldn’t provide the DM’s info. I curtly told Christian that their process hadn’t worked, and I needed the DM. He gave me a first name, but refused the last name. “I don’t like doing that - he told me himself that he’s okay with - giving out his last name - I don’t do that myself for sensitive reasons - I don’t need all the customers in the entire company trying to look me up when I’m not even at work, you know?” He intentionally withheld the contact info, despite having DM Kyle’s consent, because of his opinion. This is further proof of misconduct within Prime Storage. He said Kyle would contact us within 48 hours – never happened.
We did not receive a full refund after a run-around, nor were we ever contacted after requesting management. We disputed the admin charge a week later because we’re done giving chances and waiting. DAYS of wasted time, energy, and resources, stress, and the most abhorrent and deceptive experience we’ve ever had. This is illegal. Prime Storage has lied to and wronged us, and we will NEVER be bac

I am being generous with 2 stars. And that is only because the customer service department was very kind and tried to help when I called to complain and the units are new and it was the cheapest around, for the size i needed. I reserved a unit almost 2 weeks ago to ensure I would have it for the day I needed to move. It asks if you want to finish the rental agreement right on line, so you don't have to mess around going into the office to do it. So I tried finishing it on line to save me a trip to Bangor, until I was hauling my stuff there. The rental agreement wouldn't load, and then my payment wouldn't go through. So I called customer service. The lady took all my info, set me up, and even gave me my unit number, and code to get into the building. She said her line wasn't secure so I had to be transfered to the automated service to pay. Well, it wouldn't go through. So I asked for customer service again. The next gentleman obviously didn't want to do his job, because he told me the first payment HAD to be made at the facility. So why do they even give you that option on line? So needless to say, I drove the hour to Bangor and got to the facility to sign the lease and make a payment. It was 10:30am and they had just opened up at 9, I believe. The open sign was lit up but a sign on the door said I am out and will return at 11:30. There was a little clock and the hands were on 11:30. So I went to visit family to waste time, and I go back at 11:30 and the worker had returned, changed the clock to 12:30 and was no where to be found. So we sat in the parking lot, hoping to catch the employee. We waited till 12:30 before calling their corporate office. They even tried reaching the worker with no success. So I told the man if she wasn't back by 1pm I was going elsewhere. He said she should be there and he wasn't sure what was going on, and apologized. He was very sympathetic to the issue but didn't know what to do. Needless to say she did not return before 1pm and I wasted an entire morning that I was supposed to be moving, which caused me to be behind, have to rent my truck for an extra day and unload a 26 foot uhaul by myself because everyone had to work when I was finally finished loading it. And now im paying TRIPLE THE AMOUNT for a unit at another facility, because I HAD to get it that day. Don't use this company unless you can skip the trip to the office. I can't believe someone can just leave work for 2 hours and get paid for it. Good help is definitely hard to find I guess.

Nice clean place but the lady had us by a lock and then when we got to the storage unit there was a welcome bag with a lock in it and would not let us return the lock that we bought for $19

I had a storage unit here for less than a week..I understand the situation with the power being out, but I wasn't able to access my storage unit for days afterwards and I got this storage unit specifically to house my tools for work. When I was able to finally get into the storage facility, I noticed a man standing in the hallway with all of his belongings around 915pm. He looked like he had been staying there.I tried to access the storage facility again the following morning around 6am and 12pm with no success. When I finally got back in later in the day, the same man was outside near my car. He got up and punched in an access code to re-enter the building. He looks as though he may be living there.Doesn't seem like a very convenient and safe place to store your belongings. I had to miss a few days of work due to my inability to access my unit and have not heard from this direct facility. I only received an email stating my storage unit has been officially closed.
