My boyfriend and I took a trip to Bar Harbor in early October for fall getaway. Choosing to stay at the Acacia House was the best decision we could’ve made! It was the perfect B&B experience. Ralph and Anna were wonderful hosts that made us feel right at home. The overall vibe was really cozy and welcoming; Cocteau twins playing softly through the speaker, warm lighting, cozy furniture. The room we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfasts in the sunroom were the highlight of our stay. The breakfasts, pastries, and afternoon cookies were absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh and utilized local, seasonal ingredients. Some of our favorites were the daily specials, such as shakshuka, eggs benedict and banana pecan pancakes. We will 100% be recommending this place to our friends. And we’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

The innkeepers are nice, sure. However, disappointed that they’re still using Covid as an excuse for not providing daily housekeeping. “To minimize contact between guests, we are not offering daily housekeeping. We will gladly provide you with fresh towels and trash removal when you need them.” Checked the Maine CDC & there are no current restrictions. Masking is optional and encouraged. No one was masked. I saw one person working in a bookstore that was masked. It feels really odd to bring down my dirty towels and trash, as if I was at home. At least state to set outside your door of a morning or night for trash pickup and clean towel exchange. Only one bathroom sized trash can was in our room. I observed no other Covid practices such as masks, social distancing, etc.
This inn has no common area to come down and read, etc. when you can’t sleep or are an early riser. I did see a small loveseat that was occupied in an extremely small nook. There were plenty of tables/chairs for dining (not spaced far apart).
If you want meat included in your breakfast, you won’t get it here on their ‘full’ menu. Bacon is listed on their website but was not on their menu. We ate breakfast down at Jordan’s (5 mornings) for the remainder of our stay.
The king bed needs to be replaced. When 2 are occupying it, you roll to the middle.
My fourth time in Maine and always stayed at inns. This was the first time I wasn’t pleased with my stay. It wasn’t a very good first experience for my husband staying in an inn/b&b.
Rooms: Our bathroom had plenty of space for a small table needed to place items upon (clothing-makeup).
Walkability: Easy walking to downtown and to the bay.

We stayed at this Bed and Breakfast July 21st to July 24th. The Acacia House is the perfect place to enjoy all that Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park have to offer, with extremely close proximity to the shops, restaurants, the sandbar, activities, and more- everything is literally around the corner from the front steps! As well as a six minute drive to Acadia National Park. Ralph and Anna, the owners of this perfect bed and breakfast, were welcoming, sincere, and accommodating hosts. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, with several options that depend on season and are locally sourced- as well as a daily special- we loved the omelets, fresh baked bread, and pancakes, along with a coffee/tea bar and breakfast treat like croissants, scones, or muffin to start. Late afternoons included lemonade and freshly made cookies- different every day. Such a sought out treat before hitting the shower after our hikes and adventures in Acadia National Park. We stayed in Room 3, and it was perfection- comfortable bed, a large bathroom, wonderful water pressure, and a great deck that was excellent to relax on with a cup of coffee. They also had excellent books with hiking trails that came in very handy. My boyfriend and I often joke about wondering what the special for breakfast is, or what sweet treat Ralph and Anna are putting out today in the afternoon while being back home! We will definitely be back. 10/10 across the board- this bed and breakfast will not disappoint. Book it.

A perfect B&B experience!! Ideal location, steps from the water, the Village Green (and its Shuttle Bus pickup), and downtown Bar Harbor's shops and restaurants. Cozy, comfortable and clean room. Spectacular breakfasts and daily afternoon baked goods were a highlight -- our driver to Bar Harbor even raved about their baking prowess. Ralph and Anne were both so welcoming and accommodating! They also provided, upon request, a delicious packed lunch that we could bring into the park for the day. Couldn't recommend more highly staying here!

We've been back each year, for 12 years now. We keep coming back because Ralph and Anna (owners) are wonderful people, the food they provide is absolute top notch - (don't forget to ask about box lunches), the location is perfect - a block off of the Main Street. In addition the breakfast served is some of the best food we've ever eaten, that they get locally from natural, family farms and sustainable living. And we just found out, Anna is baking pies for a local farm market. So be sure to ask for pie!
Walkability: Being 2 blocks from the Village Green, it is super convenient to catch the Acadia shuttle buses anywhere in the Acadia National Park. Better yet, you can hike up one mountain, across the top and down the other side and catch the bus there, so no backtracking and you don't have to try to find parking! So nice!
Noteworthy details: By ordering ahead for box lunches, they are jam packed with gourmet, homemade bread, veggies and tasty sandwiches and desserts! Perfect to take with you for a day of hiking at Acadia. Can't tell you how many times we've been at the top of a mountain, eating our lunch and folks will ask where we got it!

Highly recommend the Acacia House B&B. Ralph & Anna are fantastic hosts.
We were in room 6 on the third floor; comfortable bedroom with a private bathroom and shower.
The Inn is at the perfect location, walking distance to all things Bar Harbor. We only needed our car the day we went into Acadia National Park.
Each breakfast was delicious. Anna accommodated my vegan diet each morning. The pancakes....OMG!

Just spent a few days with Ralph and Anna and what great hosts they are! Absolutely scrumptious breakfasts, served with lots of New England hospitality! The Inn is located just right off of all of the action, everything within walking distance so no hunting for a parking space when wandering through the village district of Bar Harbor. Yet it is quiet and cozy, and made for good sleeping! I would highly recommend this charming B&B!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Acacia Inn! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The breakfasts served each morning were not only delicious but also a delightful way to start the day. The pastries prepared in the afternoons were a true highlight of our trip, and I must say, they might be the best I've ever had.Our room, Room 3, was spacious and comfortable, and the balcony was a lovely addition where we could unwind. The inn's perfect location, within walking distance to everything in town, made our stay even more enjoyable. Without a doubt, we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Acacia Inn made our first trip to Maine memorable and leaves us wanting to come back soon!

What a great Bed & Breakfast! We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor. It was clean, spacious, had a comfortable bed and lots of natural lighting. The en-suite bathroom was also spacious and we enjoyed the new shower with multiple jets. The breakfast each morning in the picturesque dining area was delicious! My husband and I enjoyed every single dish we had, especially the daily specials. We also enjoyed the packed lunches to take with us one day, which Ralph and Anna had them ready for us in the morning before we left.Ralph and Anna are warm and welcoming, and offered tips for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor from a locals perspective. They care about the little things too like providing cookies and lemonade in the afternoon and grab and go umbrellas when it rained one day.Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend staying here!

This place is wonderful. The location is terrific, the hosts are terrific, one bakes, one cooks, they can accommodate vegan diets with ease and grace. They are knowledgeable about hiking and cycling. The room is very good - clean, simple, bed was very good. Breakfast and baked goods are amazing. Communication was super. We will absolutely stay there any time we are in Bar Harbor. Thank you for a super stay!

June 2023. Sally W. We stayed with Ralph and Anna for 4 days. Very welcoming, and Ralph took our luggage up to the 3rd floor for us! Three-course breakfasts and afternoon treats spoiled us every day. Ralph was a pastry chef before becoming an inn owner according to his daughter, and his pastries/desserts attest to that fact. Packed lunches in insulated backpacks are available upon request which makes for an easy day of hassle-free day of hiking. Everything anyone could want to do is within a 5-minute walk of the Acacia House--Bar Island Land Bridge, the shore path, stained glass windows by Louis Tiffany at St. Saviour's church, the Abbe Museum, all shops and restaurants. I would recommend the Acacia House over a hotel always!
