Classy, unique hotel with excellent staff and delicious buffet breakfast. The view from the rooms is beautiful. If I ever make it back to Maine this is where I'll stay again.

I'm going to take a second to review this hotel and I'm still on vacation. I'm picky and do my research before putting out money for vacations. That being said I can't understand for a second why anyone would want to stay anywhere else in Bar Harbor. 22 rooms all with a balcony and a view. Shuttle into town. Fast and convenient Leo and Greg are fantastic. Delicious breakfast every morning included. I am a vegetarian and the breakfast is vegetarian and vegan but even my husband is raving over the food. Especially this quiche croissant they have. Choc chip cookies in the afternoon with options for those gluten free. They even left two champagne glasses with a shareable bottle of champagne and a card for my birthday. And the beds are super comfy. Wonderful place with a staff that needs to be recognized!

The Bayview Hotel’s main attraction is its location overlooking Frenchman Bay at the footstep of Bar Harbor’s main downtown area and in close proximity to Acadia National Park. Otherwise, my experience staying there was that of a mediocre hotel that functions more as a motel. Front desk staff was warm upon arrival. However, nothing was personalized about the service provided. Rooms on the lower floor, albeit spacious, are dark and drab, and in dire need of an update/modernization. The bathroom was also in a rather sad state, and not particularly functional- poorly draining sink, difficult to maneuver and not fully closing door, significant height difference between tub and bathroom floor, cramped commode area. Frankly, I would take a room at a Fairfield Inn or Courtyard Marriott any time over this. And again, no personal touches. There is no food offered on premises other than a generic buffet breakfast, that really does not change from day to day, and is again of the quality one would expect of a generic brand hotel. There is a happy hour offered on premises (not included) and a free shuttle offered to downtown Bar Harbor (it is a rather lengthy walk to downtown Bar Harbor and back on foot). Ultimately, for the price I happened to pay, I was able to justify it given the location/time of the year. However, for those thinking about dishing $500+ a night, thinking that this is going to be a cute boutique hotel with a Maine cachet, I would strongly recommend against it because chances are that you are going to feel ripped off. If I were to repeat a trip to Bar Harbor, I would look elsewhere first.

Had a really nice stay here for a couple days even if the picturesque view was limited by the fog bank the whole bay was stuck in one of those days. Staff was all exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Spacious room, comfortable beds, very clean. Vegetarian-only continental breakfast included and it's quite good - the blueberry french toast bakes were superb! Located down a short forested driveway a bit off the road and a little over a mile from the town center, making for a nice walk if you want to stretch your legs a bit...or if you prefer they also feature a very convenient on-call shuttle service to and from downtown where finding parking can sometimes be challenging. Would definitely stay here again!

DISGUSTING I cannot believe that this hotel has the nerve to charge 599 per night. I am here now and it is disgusting. The room smells musty and like a toilet. Additionally the floors feel dirty under foot, the furniture is dated and chairs are stained. The website is absolutely false advertising. Sadly I have wasted my money. One pro is the view, but quite frankly there is several other hotels less expensive that i could have chose with the same view. I am so disappointed and upset that I have been ripped off. The hotel really should be ashamed of how they mislead the public with their website photos.Food & drinks: No restaurant onsite and breakfast is a disappointment - continental only and I have been to budget hotels with a better breakfast.

If you want outstanding service in a quiet location with a beautiful view, this is the place. Everyone we dealt with was warm and accommodating. The complimentary shuttle into town was an unexpected and most welcome amenity that we used several times. We never waited more than a few minutes for a ride, and the drivers were knowledgeable and friendly (Greg and Leo). Sarah, who checked us in, was full of useful information, as were all the desk agents. The complimentary snacks (cookies, whoopie pies, flavored water, etc) were out all day, and were delicious. The continental breakfast was the best I've seen, with outstanding pastries, rolls, breads, cheese, yogurt, cereals and fruit, as well as cheesy hash browns one day and crustless cheese and spinach quiche a second day. Several juice, coffee, and tea choices were available. The property is very clean, as was our room. The gigantic, very high bed was quite luxurious. The rest of the furnishings in our room were dated and could use a refresh, although they were clean and in good repair. It was our anniversary, and there was a small bottle of prosecco and two flutes waiting for us, along with a lovely note. The view off of our large balcony was gorgeous; we spent quite some time just relaxing and enjoying it. This hotel is very pricey, but the service is worth it. We will absolutely return!

Beautiful view! Friendliest staff! Breakfast included. A small bar/appetizers in the evening A+! The room was large and very quiet and comfortable. Knowing that it was my husbands birthday during our stay, the manager went out, on her own, and bought us the cutest little cake/candles!!I would not have any problem staying here again!Rooms: The room was large and very quiet and very comfortable.Walkability: I wish I was told about the walk into town. While it was only 1.5 miles, it was too far for me to walk round trip. A free shuttle was offered from 3-10:00 p.m.Food & drinks: Very nice breakfast included. Very, nice small Bar and appetizers were available in the evenings.

Luxury at its finest!! Located right on the Harbor, The Bayview Hotel offers an unique view of all of the finest things that make up Bar Harbor, Maine. The rooms are amazing and the views are absolutely breathtaking. On beautiful days, which most days are, you can see the entire harbor. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and our visit was wonderful. The breakfast in the dining room was first rate and not to be missed. Our stay was only 3 days, but we plan to visit many more times in the future!!Rooms: Large, clean and luxurious rooms. Every amenity within easy reach. Large and comfortable beds. Huge bathroom with a wonderful heating lamp! Your day starts off well and continues till you come back at night!Nearby activities: Easy walking distance or use the hotel shuttle to downtown and water activities. Great restaurants nearby.Noteworthy details: Nicely appointed hotel with beautiful rooms and views. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

We loved our stay at The Bayview Hotel. The property is stunning and the facilities/ rooms are tastefully decorated. The Hotel is within walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor even with tiny humans, and conveniently located near the Acadia park entrance.During our stay we enjoyed drinks and lite bites in the Rusticator Room which was all fantastic. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Bar Harbor.

This hotel is vegetarian. Don’t expect any meat related choices on continental breakfast. Very limited variety of cheese and fruit. Few pastries and one cereal. Nothing special. There is no refill on water or poop bags in your room. For $700 a night I would expect at least more water…Food & drinks: This hotel is vegetarian. They don’t have any restaurant on the premises, you always have to go out of the hotel to eat…

Shuttle downtown was super convenient and staff went above and beyond. Cannot beat the views from the rooms. Breakfast pastries were wildly scrumptious.

We were traveling with our dog and absolutely loved this hotel. The dog friendly rooms are super dog friendly, with bowls a bed and a little (literal) doggie bag of treats, etc. The human accommodations are lovely. Clean, tasteful room with a gorgeous balcony. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. Incredible views across the ocean and the shoreline just 150 feet away. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. Our only disappointments were breakfast-related oversights. (Granola but no milk for example) Highly recommend!

The front desk attendant is a transphobe, so beware if you plan to stay here that you don’t get abused by her. The hotel itself is fine, but I won’t be spending my money here and supporting a business that allows employees like that to deal with the general public.
