I used to live on the Island as a teenager. So to go back and visit with my daughter, I wanted to make sure we had a view. If you want a view, this place Delivers!!! But that's where the experience ends.
We had just gotten in from central Florida on the heels of hurricane Milton. Our reservation had to be changed multiple times due to flight cancellations and such for the hurricane. The front desk was less than hospitable, almost laughing at our situation and my concern about the many changes we underwent. There was little kindness or empathy for what we had just been through or that we had no power and minimal phone service, after walking down the street, just to make the changes in reservations to get here.
After checking in and feeling laughed at, we got to our room which appeared to be last updated in the late 1960's. It was very clean though. I will say the housekeeper does a fantastic job cleaning that old room.
Other travelers may have a better experience than we did. We did enjoy the view and balcony to see the view and housekeeping is unmatched, but the front desk killed the vibe I was hoping for in showing my daughter the Island.

Excellent rooms in a perfect location.
Clean and spacious.
Much privacy and close to city center and Acadia.
Rooms: Beautiful rooms
Walkability: Very close to Acadia

This place is super close to Acadia and is a quick drive to lots of spots in the national park. The park shuttle also stops near the hotel. The hotel is also pretty close to the downtown area of Bar harbor which has many restaurants.
The Wonder View inn and Blue Nose Inn share the same premises and staff. So while driving you may see signs for either of the hotels.
Rooms: Small cozy rooms. Not extremely small but also not very large.
Nearby activities: Trails in Acadia, park loop road and Cadillac mountain
Walkability: Pretty walkable from most places including Acadia national park and bar harbor

Room service a disaster. Beds not made properly. Bathroom barely cleaned.
Rooms: Beds are not made properly. Coffee cups not renewed. But collect high prices.

Walkability: Less than a mile to the beach and the Harbor Express goes by as well.

We had an amazing stay at this pet-friendly hotel. Room 49 was perfect, with a spacious terrace and stunning sunrise views from the second floor, some thing to keep in mind if you don’t get those Cadillac Mountain sunrise permits! The location is ideal, close to town and convenient for park access with a the park shuttle right pick up/drop off right outside. They have pet goodie bags set up when you arrive in your room and they are clear about where your pet can go on the property.
The hotel offers great amenities, including indoor & outdoor pools, a piano bar, and a fantastic restaurant, The Looking Glass, with a great outdoor patio terrace and a fire pit. Maine wild blueberry pancakes and a mimosa in the sun was the perfect start to the day.
The staff was attentive and friendly & chill. The business center was comfortable and bright so if you do have to do work, it won’t be miserable! The hotel rates I thought were quite reasonable, especially during high peak season in August. There were no gimmicks or extra fees.
Because of the layout, I would recommend that if you arrive at night, depending where your room is located, don’t be shy to ask somebody to escort you there as the this is not a cookie-cutter run-of-the-mill layout.
It's like staying at your rich friend's mansion where you can raid the fridge in your cut-offs, sprint barefoot across the lawn, explore the expansive property, then magically summon a butler when you need your cocktail dress pressed for the piano bar. The perfect blend of laid-back Maine charm and upscale comfort!

Ok, its a motel, but had new carpet, King bed, night stands, lots of plug ins for cpap & phone chargers, & very nice bathroom. It was very nice & employees were great. This is not an upper crust location, but very nice plus has free bus service To/From Bar Harbor where there's very little parking. Bar Harbor is where all the tourist shopping & resturants are. Was a convenience not to drive. Price was better than others around town. It was very nice & I would recommend it! #4

This place was pretty great, and the location was super if you want to walk downtown. Although not a deal-breaker it would be worth noting that the bathroom situation was a little rough. Although very clean and the shower was good, the sink situation was a little difficult to get ready there was almost zero shelf space or side sink space. The first night I leaned over to spit out my toothpaste I hit my forehead on the glass which was the shelving right above the sink. It was a very tight space to get ready for the day or for the night. Other than that the rooms were extremely clean, the bed was comfortable and the view was exceptional.

Overall we had a wonderful experience at the wonder view inn. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Close to downtown bar harbor and close to Acadia it was wonderful.
The room we chose was dog friendly which was very nice as we had our 2 dogs with us. They even gave us treats, bowls and poop bags when we arrived.
The only not so great thing I have to say about the place is that the rooms are quite a bit out of date. The bathrooms could definitely use a little TLC as the room we were in had a few mold spots on the ceiling.
Other than that we had a great time.

My boyfriend and I stayed for a week in August. We had an ongoing, repeated issue with an employee parking directly in front of the wheelchair access ramp near our room (4 times that I witnessed), but I was very impressed that they installed grab bars in the bathroom upon request! (note attached to booking) I called about the disrespectful employee several times and finally complained in person at the front desk. The manager I spoke to did try to excuse his behavior somewhat, but also said that she planned to speak to the GM about painting more No Parking lines in front of the ramp (it is *somewhat* unclear, but the curb is painted yellow and the ramp is obvious) to prevent future issues. I hope all the employees get some more training regarding respect for disabled guests, but overall I enjoyed my stay and plan to return.
Rooms: Our room was clean with classic yet not overly dated decor. There were plenty of charging outlets between two stations. I didn’t hear any noise through the walls and the furniture was comfortable.
Safety: Roads throughout the hotel campus are winding and often single-lane. I came head to head with another car at least once.
Noteworthy details: The indoor pool does NOT have a wheelchair accessible entrance, but does have a lift chair. The outdoor pool also has a lift chair, but I’m not sure if it has an accessible entrance.

Wonder View is our go-to hotel when we visit MDI. The location is convenient to the carriage trails for biking at Acadia. It is also walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor (though the property sits on a steep hill.).
Recently there was a snag with room reservations, and the desk clerk, Antimony, was very cordial and responsive to our needs and made sure everything was well-resolved.

We arrived anticipating a view even if in a dated facility. But instead we were placed in an older Lower locution with no view and multiple problems. Our deck featured in photos was coated in green pollen such that your feet were green when returning to your room it triggered an allergy attack that sent me inside which is not where I wanted to be. Then the bath tub had several long black hairs in it and some on the bath walls from a blow dryer. Not ours. Not clean. When I walked barefooted across the vinyl floors to to the bed my feet had hair attached. Not a clean room. No view and a cold check in staff. Very dissatisfied

I recently stayed at Courtyard Building and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The room I was given was old and had a very depressing atmosphere. It felt neglected and uncared for, which made my stay quite uncomfortable.
The housekeeping service was extremely disappointing. Despite staying for four nights, the bed linens were not changed at all during my stay. Bed was also poorly made on daily basis.
Additionally, the dustbins were not emptied daily leaving me to deal with accumulating trash. Room also had mosquitoes with no ability to deal with them. Both myself and my wife were left with multiple itchy mosquito bites.
Only saving grace was the use of hot tub and pool facilities.
Overall, the lack of basic cleanliness and upkeep in the room left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless significant improvements are made.
