Amazing stay! Very clean and cozy spot. Felt like a home not an air bnb. Easy access to mountain and restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Easy process self check in key was in the room after getting the confirm email. My only complaints were the wifi which wasn't password protected (public wifi isnt safe). Also no check out instructions I just left the key and went skiing. It was clean and warm. Also the TV was ancient and tiny had terrible. Watching from across the room in letterbox picture on a 19 inch was really painful. They need to update there wall units/tv stand and get a bigger one. The cable split connection makes the picture small already.

My daughter and I had a GREAT experience here. The staff were very friendly. The room was to our satisfaction. No complaints. The most impressive part came after our return home. My wife realized our daughter left her stuffed animal and ear pods behind accidentally. She reached out and within days, both items were not only located, but nicely packaged up and sent directly to our home. We can't say enough about the housekeeping staff and the manager for making sure the items were received swiftly by our daughter. Thanks again:)Nearby activities: Skiing at Sunday River

We had stayed at this inn for many years with no issues. The ownership changed last year and we noticed maintenance issues this time like rust in the sink, broken woodwork in the bathroom and the lock was broken on our door. The towels were small and thin. The owners were rude and disrespectful. When we arrived at 430pm the office was closed with a note on the door saying to go to your room so we went to our room ( which we had booked 3 months prior and received a confirmation.) The owner was rude and sent some crass guy to our room who said quote " This isn't your room and you need to leave." He didn't even introduce himself or ask who we were. He refused to look at my confirmation for the room and refused to take payment from us. He called the sheriff to tell us to leave. They had double booked the room. I found out that they paid $750.00 to put the other guests up at an inn closeby. They lost the rate we would have paid as well which was $360.00. So their ignorance cost them over $1000.00. These guys are ruining what used to be a nice inn. We only had to pay a couple hundred more to stay somewhere else which was mu h more secure and comfortable.Safety: Our door lock was broken and the door rattled when the wind blew.

My last response in reference to this incident. I read your response and I respectfully disagree. We have been staying at the Rostay for many years and have never broke the rules. We make a reservation give the Rostay our card number then when we arrive we check in and the Rostay charges the card. If no one is in the office we go to the room. I heard the man on the phone tell Colleen that they were good to go for this weekend. I understand that it is under new management. I don't know why this happened especially since I have seen the reservation confirmation on her phone. Please cancel our Tough Mtn Challenge reservation for July since none of the woman will be able to stay due to the Trespass notice. Thank You

My friends and I booked 2 nights at this inn to ski the River. The day of our stay, Josh reached out to give instructions on accessing the room. He was very polite and attentive. The room itself was very clean. I have allergies and if the room was not up to par in any way, my allergies would have gone nuts. Thankfully the room was in impeccable sanitary condition. The location was great too - close to amenities. The BBQ joint next door is worth the money and the wait. Gas station across the street. Plenty of parking. Overall 10/10 from quality to attentiveness to amenities. Will be staying here in the future. Thanks, Josh ??

We recently stayed for three nights while skiing Sunday River. First, logistically this is a perfect spot to quickly get to the Mountain each day. Second, the price was super reasonable for being so close to a ski resort. Josh was communicative through text on our arrival Day. There is digital Check in through a text link he sends on day of check in....our first time with this but found it to be very simple. Room had a microwave and coffee maker, little table, chairs, small couch and the bed. There was was hot tub as well.. This place was all we needed and met expectations. There is a cute Maine store, kind of a general store right next door and a convenience/grocery store across street. We would definitely stay again or recommend to friends.Nearby activities: Sunday River Ski Resort

In the world of innkeeping, Josh seems to have confused ‘hospitality’ with ‘hostility,’ taking the concept of “make yourself at home” to new, courtroom-bound heights. Instead of offering a welcoming handshake, it sounds like guests might be more likely to receive a summons. Perhaps in the next chapter of the inn’s guestbook, we’ll find a section titled “Legal Tips for the Travel-Weary.” Here’s hoping future reviews include more raves about the comfy beds and less about the courtroom drama. Hospitality, after all, should feel more like a warm welcome and less like an episode of “Judge Judy.”Longtime guests of the Inn may remember the warmth and hospitality that once defined its charm. However, recent encounters, particularly between guests and the new management, suggest a departure from those cherished values. A recent interaction, involving a dispute over a room booking, underscores a concerning shift towards communication breakdowns and an unsettling approach to guest relations. While maintenance and service quality are fundamental, the essence of hospitality lies in resolving issues with grace and professionalism. It’s disheartening to hear of guests feeling unwelcome and disputes being handled in a manner more fitting for a legal drama than a reputed inn. As patrons, we hope for a return to the inn’s legacy of warmth and welcome, where issues are met with understanding and a genuine desire to ensure guest satisfaction.

Very cute and rustic, and management is responsive. Comfortable bed and a great selection of VHS's that made me very nostalgic and happy. Room had kind of a musty scent but nothing terrible. Would come back!
