Gift Shops in Boothbay Harbor, ME

“Unbelievable customer service! I was a phone customer looking to buy my sister who is vacationing in Boothbay Harbor a gift that she could pick up at the store. My other sister and I thought it would be fun for her to go to the store and be handed our gift as we live in Florida and Idaho. Faye was so kind she went out of her way giving me suggestions and sending me pictures of items that I could choose from. Eileen too was so helpful and she wrapped the gift for my sister to pick up! I will be in Boothbay Harbor next August for my nephew’s wedding and I look forward to visiting and shopping at Sweet Bay Shop! Thank you Faye and Eileen!”

“We came to this local shop on our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! Wonderful selection of local clothing and trinkets. Donna was very helpful and the sweetest woman we encountered on our trip.”

“We had a ball shopping in this store while on vacation. It's cute and quaint. Lots to look at. Bought grandkids some sweatshirts and ordered hubby a shirt for our anniversary. It's gonna be a huge surprise for him. We love The Smiling Cow.”

“I’m giving four stars because one of the employees there was excellent! Wish. I caught her name but she made the experience in the shop pretty nice. As for two of the other employees one practically following us around the store and keeping an eye on us which was uncomfortable, not sure if it was because we had a 6 year old with us or if she was just trying to keep a eye out if we wanted help with something but it kinda felt weird. The other employee was a older man who couldn’t be bothered to tend to other customers to cash out while standing at the counter for a long time because he was too busy with a customer he was chatting with talking about his ‘energy’ and personal experiences, which isn’t a problem for a short period but you could at least acknowledge the people waiting behind them or let us know he’ll get to us or anything at all lol. The good employee there came up to us to make sure we could get his attention because she saw us waiting there for quite a while and she also had to let him know that there are other customers waiting in line. She then proceeded to engage in conversation while we waited in line to cash out (because the man at the cash register was still going on in his deep conversation) but she was talking to our 6 year old about some of the cool items behind us and she made it feel warm and welcoming. Will return due to this one employee and try it out again. They have so many great things to check out and I would like to bring my mom here in the future. Overall worth going. Hopefully the next time I go I’ll be able to come back and update this and add on a extra star also”

“Stopped in and got windbreakers for our time on the water. Also picked up a few other things. Nice little shop with lots to choose from and friendly staff. Stop in for some mementos and a windbreaker if you don’t have one and plan on going out on a cruise.”
