I have a difficult time believing that anyone has had a negative experience at the South Main Street location. Perhaps they got it confused with the Bangor store that is known to be messy and have less than friendly customer service. The manager at Big Apple South Main Street takes great pride in the cleanliness of his store and always values the importance of customer service above all else. I am in there at least 4 times a week around 6am. Coffee, creamers, etc are always full, store is always clean and staff is always welcoming. I truly believe the woman who left the negative review last week has this location confused with another. Thank you

Went in at 6 AM worker behind the counter not attending to anything coffee space completely a mess no coffee, no creamer, no sugar, and when it was brought up to the associates attention, he laughed and said he wasn’t going to do anything about it. Save your time and go to a better maintained store.

Angela needs to be fired. No question, she is absolutely unprofessional, rude and ridiculously off putting. She is blatantly racist, uneducated and rude to all of the clientele. My roommate and I are dedicated customers, we don't even live in brewer but we make the trip to this particular location because the attendants have always been friendly, lovely and helpful. Especially miss Amy. Since they have hired Angela, she has blatantly discriminated against a black man trying to buy a tobacco product because he had an out of state ID. We witnessed it and proceeded to stand up for him, in which she screamed she would call the cops. Just now, I attempted to buy alcohol at 12:56AM, as the Maine state law states that alcohol is only allowed to be sold until 1 AM, and Angela proceeded to scream at me that her register says it was after 1 and that if I didn't leave she would call the cops. My cell phone, HER cell phone and likely every other clock in the world says the time was before 1. But she seems to relish in upsetting her customers, and screamed at/threatened to call the cops on me because I wanted to buy some booze before the LEGAL cut off time. If I had known her register was WRONG and that she would be so unbelievably rude to me, I would've taken my business elsewhere. That woman is miserable and I feel terrible that her life is so hard that she has to treat others this way. If it weren't for Amy, who is professional, kind and actually decent at her job, I would discontinue shopping here. Y'all should give Amy a raise because she is the only reason Angela hasn't totally tanked your business.

Was literally YELLED at by the cashier because I tried to purchase something after midnight while their system was changing, when I asked if I could just wait in my car for the time being, he just shouted at me louder saying I HAD TO WAIT 8 MINUTES so I just left the stuff on the counter and went to the Irving up the street. I'm pretty sure it was the owner too who yelled at me. I'll drive the extra 5 minutes from now on so I don't get yelled at by men 3 times my age for doing nothing.

Been coming here to gas up since moving to Brewer last summer. Every transaction I can never use my debit, only cash or credit because my debit gets denied every time and I know it isn’t me because I’ll use it literally down the road at Irving and it works fine. Working off that, we get attitude when the transaction doesn’t work and attitude when we simply ask to pay ahead for our pump because the pump, once again, will not take my payment! Also don’t get snacks there, my husband thought to surprise me with a candy bar one day and it expired months before.
