A beautiful place, space, and caretakers for animals, to live out the rest of their lives with compassion and respect dignity

Such a fabulous place - they take loving care of previously neglected and abused farm animals at multiple locations. Such dedicated and caring humans!

The director Melissa and her volunteers were very helpful and informative. The place was like Heaven. Happy, healthy animals on land adequate in size for their needs. Clearly well taken care of. Visit and donate here rather than some horrible zoo!

From Peace Ridge Sanctuary
Peace Ridge was founded in 2001 in order to address animal cruelty, neglect and exploitation, and to promote vegan ethics in New England. We advocate for all animals – farmed animals, domestic companion animals, and wildlife. Situated in Mid Coast Maine, our sanctuary is currently home to nearly 500 farmed animals, equines, and senior dogs that come from all types of situations where they have been neglected, exploited, or abused. Our four shelters are state-licensed and accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. In addition to our rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary programs, PRS runs comprehensive humane education programs and stewards and protects nearly 2,000 acres for the benefit of wildlife and conservation efforts.
