In the post office, they are great. The regular mail delivery person does an outstanding job. The trouble is with the sub mail delivery people. They jam the mail in the mail box, leave packages on the road. Because of this, confidential mail is compromised and contents of packages may get damaged. The sub mail delivery people do a horrific job and are subpar.

Can't get them on the phone to ask a simple question.

This is a sizable post office compared to small towns in the area. Three service desks and lots of rental boxes on offer. I sometimes have to wait a few minutes if it is busy but this visit was quick. Do all the normal stuff and buy greeting cards too.

Twice in the last few months I've had my package arrive here in Brunswick, only to end up delayed and heading back to MA. Learn how to do your jobs!

Alot of packages go "missing" at this location. Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone took me 5 calls before someone actually answered to see who was even calling, instead of hanging up on the call.

It's very rare that I write negative reviews. I usually just let it go and move on.But for context, I was in the Navy and traveled all over the country, used various postal services at multiple locations and this is by far the worst post office I have ever been to in the USThere are some tiny little post offices in incredibly rural areas that do a better job than this one does.I've had packages sent here that get returned to sender for no reason, they close my postal box without warning, causing all of the packages I had sent to it, including my passport, to get returned to sender. If you're thinking about getting a PO box here, don't. If you're a Brunswick local like me, just go to the Freeport post office or go to Portland, this place isn't even worth your time and will offer you nothing but heartache and inconvenience.Keep in mind that I'm a very patient guy and I'm very understanding of how hard customer service jobs can be... But there is no excuse for the kind of mismanagement I have experienced in the year that I have been with this post office.Honestly, if it were possible to give less than a star, I would do so.Shout out to Matt though, probably one of the most helpful postal workers I've interacted with. He was the only person that would help me every single time I ran into these kind of issues, where is everybody else just treated me like a massive inconvenience and I watched them do the same to at least six people waiting in line to mail packages when I sat in a chair and waited for an hour to be helped.

I took a small, 4x7 envelope with a birthday card inclosed to the Brunswick P.O. the teller told me that since the card inside the envelope would not bend it would have to be shipped as a package for the amount of $4.85 instead of a regular postage stamp! I needed it mailed and had no choice but to pay the $4.85 and let it go.

Today a newish woman at the counter failed to follow protocol when processing my package to be mailed internationally. I know the routine, I mail internationally on a regular basis from the Brunswick office. One of the safeguards in place is for the mailer to sign and date the package on a piece of tape that is added to the package. A second piece of tape is to go over that so as not to smear the ink. The clerk balked at appying the tape stating that, "Well at the old office we didn't..." I told her I was paying close to $40 to mail a package internationally and that I wanted her to follow protocol. Once the tape was seemingly grugingly applied, none of their ink pens would work on the tape. The last time I signed the tape the clerk gave me a felt tip pen which worked perfetly. I asked for a felt tip pen. A second clerk, a longtime male employee, said that he has never used a felt tip pen for that signature in all the years he has been there. The female clerk also didn't ask if the address she had entered was right. Those were TWO major parts of the process she is to follow. The office needs to make sure she doesn't screw up, again.

I have been critical in past reviews but today we had really good service and I feel I have to reassess my previous opinion. A package was late arriving because it was lost at UPS. Tracking information was very confusing. My husband took the half-dozen conflicting tracker messages into the post office and a very smart and patient clerk investigated, finding that it had just been delivered to the post office about half an hour earlier. Along with 100 other packages it was expected at our house tomorrow but apparently our inquiry spurred some hunting and the package arrived at our house about 2 hours later!

Package says it was delivered to the mailbox from this post office but it's simply not there. They don't answer the phone either.

No one ever answers the phone. Every time I order a package that has a tracking number it is delayed and always states “being held at post office upon customer request”???? It has happened the last 3 times. I’ve never requested it be held. I’m told that is their auto wording when package placed on incorrect mail delivery vehicle.

Sadly, I will no longer be using the USPS for any shipping. I really did want to support them. This is the second time a package I have sent has been lost in the mail. Even after filing a claim (the first time) the items were never found. (but they didn't send my label back to me! ) This time it was a book written by my grandfather before he died. There was only one. The cashier who told me that I could send it at the "media rate" never explained that the postage didn't include insurance coverage. My daughter received an empty box in the mail saying, sorry for the damage. I am so pissed. And the cashier at the Brunswick office didn't seem to care at all. I will not be returning.
