I'm a canadian who came in earlier (sept 19th 2025, roughly like 5pm or something) as my first time going to a gun store in America. Even with the full knowledge of me being unable to purchase anything, there was an employee (he was wearing a cap, maybe glasses, and had ginger/blonde hair) who was more than willing to show me many interesting firearms, explain multiple different types of firearms to me, the types of mechanisms, how to operate them, and struck up various conversations with me about Canadian firearm law
I am extremely grateful for the experience because I have never been around so many types of firearms. The employee even handed me an HK-91 to hold! And even took a photo with me holding it! Great experience and if I was a resident of downeast maine I'd visit frequently because I had an amazing time

They accept mail order stuff. Pickup counter is at the back of the store. It's more than just hardware, fishing, hunting and camping gear is attached building.

They are right on Canada border and will store your firearms. They have an insane selection of guns, hardware, home repair and rv supplies. Very friendly staff

What a great store with great folks working there. A great place to store your firearms before crossing into Canada. Had a plumbing issue in our TT when stopping to pick up our firearms and they bent over backwards to help.

Surprisingly good gun selection for a hardware store. If you're in the area looking for firearms and ammunition Johnsons is the place to go.

Best hardwares store I've ever shopped in. The staff are there to help, almost always without a wait. They have ordered items for me several times that they did not stock or have. Returns are never an issue.
