“The young lady that shaved my cat because of matted fur did a great job. I am very surprised that my cat let her do this, I tried many times myself and he just wouldn’t let me. They are very kind techs. I will be back the next time he is in need of their services.”

“I didn't go inside except to pay for the chicken feed I bought. I've been to Agway many times over the years, but not this one. I found the site to be exactly the same as I remembered. The staff was very helpful by loading my car with the feed.”

“Best groomers we have found yet! Our BMD is an anxious girl when it comes to her grooms and Sam did an amazing job with her. It was the first time we picked her up from the groomers and she was calm! She also looked beautiful and was amazingly trimmed and bathed.”

“Hello to everyone in the York ME area!
Ann-imals Pet Supply Store is the best.
They carry the top-of-the-line products for both dogs and cats.
This is important because most pet stores don’t cater to both equally.
I highly recommend you stop in and see what they have.
ps Stop in and say to Ian, he is the best. ♥♥♥”

“As a part time groomer at Creature Comforts the post regarding the dog going without water is distressing. More distressing is a false review. Upon looking at the posters information, the poster has not brought a dog to Creature Comforts in over 2 years and never had the pet been here for grooming. I want to ensure that all the pets in for grooming are offered water at regular intervals as well as taken out to relieve themselves. Grooming animals will generally take a little water while here but not to the volume that they would when resting around their own home. The pets are going to act a little differently when out of their own environment as is normal. The staff does their best to ensure all pets are comfortable and shown compassion while here. This is why many of our staff members have been here for 10, 15, and 20 or more years.... as I have.”

“Bought the 3 pack on amazon and they are amazing. No more leatherman or tweezers. Find the little b***** and slide em off. Trap them in tape and be done with em. FANTASTIC!”

“My dog insisted we stop in on our walk. Apparently she knows where she's wanted! Lol We were greeted warmly and given lots of good info - along with lots of attention for my silly dog. Will be back Fri am to get a cool anxiety toy that was recommended for our rescue dog. (Can't take her into the store yet. She will get there. ???)

Thanks for the help and see you soon! ???”

“We love the Canine Cupboard! Very reasonable prices and the owner has given us great recommendations for treats for a finicky eater when our pup was on end of life care last year. The owner clearly cares a lot about animals and is so kind every time we’ve come in. Love the dog bakery counter too!”

“I had never been to the store before today. What a great place! The smell reminds me of the ‘old hardware store’, that we would visit as children. Linda was extremely kind and very helpful.”

“We've had 2 dogs go here for daycare over the last 14 years. There is no other place we would trust as much. Kerry is the best, she loves all the dogs like they are her own. Their groomers are great too. The most important review is from our dog, she get pretty excited everytime we drove by.”

“Took my two cats for rabies vaccination but also had additional questions as both had tummy issues - the vet did not have to do any of it (the place was for vaccinations only) but she also gave them a dewormer, discussed food choice with me and suggested a prebiotic that seems to help. Great staff (and affordable option)! I recommend the place.”

“Me and my boyfriend recently went to this shelter, and saw a little cat who was very skittish, hiding in his box.The staff were very honest with us about his past, which is very very appreciative - making sure we understood that it may take some time for him to open up, given his past. After adopting him, he did hide under the bed and didn’t really come out, so we would give him a bowl of food under the bed, occasionally petting him and giving him a treat until he felt comfortable enough and ready to come out. After only three days, he came out, and started to get to know the other two cats that we have in our home. He sleeps in bed with us, sleeps and plays with our other cats, and shows us so much love, we couldn’t ask for anything more. Our other two cats absolutely love him. Seeing him open up the way he has in the short amount of time we’ve had him so far has been an amazing experience. He is truly such a sweet boy. And a huge thanks to the staff for being so respectful, and 100% honest with us, letting us know everything we needed to know about him before adopting him. Some other places we have tried to adopt from, unfortunately were using the animals for money - but the staff at this shelter, from seeing the care for the animals, to seeing the adoption process, it was clear to me how much they all truly care for the animals.”

“Wow! This is an awesome shelter!
At another shelter we were treated with undue suspicion ( we cancelled our application after 10 days of background checks and no answer)
BUT the SPCA read our application and gave us an immediate pre-approval. The SPCA is friendly from the moment you walk in.

You will receive a volunteer or employee who will guide you through the animals, open crates, and answer questions. We went twice on crowded snowstorm Saturdays and the staff did a great job of helping people take turns with meeting animals. We spent 4 hours with cats and they never rushed us. They did not guilt us about anything about our lives. When they discovered that the cats we chose to adopt had a foster family note that the cats shouldn't be with dogs ( we have a dog), they told us all of the details and politely and respectfully discussed the situation and left it up to us to judge for ourselves whether we think we can prevent problems with the cats and our dog. We saw that another family wanted the cats, so we changed our choice to another cat that we bonded with. We were impressed that they treated us as competent pet owners instead of refusing adoption.

This shelter collects as much background info on the pets as they can, with the help of foster homes. They clearly cared about doing the right thing for each animal.

The shelter has clean spacious enclosures for cats and small animals ( that's all we saw) with plexiglas instead of metal bars. There are finger holes in some Plexiglas panels so you can speak, or put a toy on a stick through, or your fingers, to start the interaction.
It was very quiet in the cat area through good interior design and unstressed cats.
There are rooms for family interaction with an animal.
They're great with kids.
The adoptable animals listings on their website is kept current in that an animal is removed from the page immediately upon adoption. There are more animals than you see online, don't be discouraged from visiting if you don't see an animal in the listings that you like.
They were cleaning enclosures and bringing out newly cleared cats as cats were adopted. I have absolutely nothing negative to say! ♥️”
