“My last day in Downeast. I wanted to purchase a Morgan Dollar (the most beautiful coin?) I was surprised that the owner showed me a whole case with about 20-30 different years. What a nice shop~~~”

“So many questions. Is Big Chicken Barn Books simply a bookstore in a big chicken barn? Is the barn big, the chicken normal-sized? Are the chicken big and the barn regular-sized, comparatively, there are questions! Are there barn books for big chicken and what is a barn book and can big chickens read anyway? Still, antiques on the first floor, books above. It's a fun stop along Route 1 on the way to or from Acadia.

There's a disappointing lack of kaiju chicken, however.”

“This is our favorite antique shop in town! We come every year, and fall in love again every time. We noticed this summer (2024) that someone had organized the whole top floor and some other areas of the store, and it was wonderful!!
They always have a pretty awesome collection of miniature odds and ends, as well as some of the neatest vintage pop culture memorabilia. If the really really really weird stuff is more your thing, they have plenty of those too.”
