Jan 5, 2024 I reserved the room and the incident I'm referring to occurred on January 6, 2024 at 3pm during check-in.The person on the running the front desk made me wait 20 mins in the lobby. No bell, booked room for 7 days at over $1,000. He didn't speak to me he screamed at me with his hands flying all over the place. There was a current resident at the desk waiting for someone as well. The employee ARGUED with two women (myself and my mother)... He's 3 times our size!! Both of us are DV survivors. I tried multiple times to reason with him. Repeatedly saying "sir I understand and I remained calm as the lunatic kept going off on me.When booking the room the site says pets welcome with a $10 fee, licensed therapy animals fees are waived. He argued that. I showed him exactly what the site states. He replied, "what EVER i'll waive it and confirm with my supervisor!!"Things then escalated very quickly and his voice got louder and the flailing went on again. I calmly said, "Ok then sir I do not want to talk with you any longer and you are discriminating on a disabled person." Can I speak to your manager?" He replied with, "I am the manager!" I replied "okay then can I speak to your supervisor?" AGAIN he claimed to be said supervisor, after stating "he would talk to a supervisor about waving the fee for the pet deposit." I then said "fine, then I would like to have the number to corporate" and again I explained that he is discriminating against me and my rights as a disabled person and I no longer wish to deal with him." He once again denied me that info. I remained VERY calm and at the counter as my 64 year old mother backed up against the wall. I took my license, and stated "with this treatment I will never return to this hotel and I've been a long time recurring customer of 20 plus years."... Long before his employment started.He's representing the Colonial Inn when he greets guests, checks guests out as well as dealing with any issues that should arise. He should remain in a professional manner at all times. Which includes not being demeaning or hostile.I am contacting the BBB and Corporate as well. Expedia has already been notified. My animal IS a licensed therapy pet!!!He's a jerk and he's very lucky I didn't give him back the disgusting attitude he bestowed upon a person fleeing domestic violence. Unacceptable 1,000,000%. I hope bullying a 5'2, 116 lb women and her elderly mother brought him lots of joy and made him feel even bigger than his already 6 ft tall self.

Not handicap accessible at the front door. At least a 6 inch step to get in. Not sure what the smell was....Sorry I can't be more positive about the review. Have to be honest.

We had a room in the annex, which is completely remodeled, and we’re very pleased with the accommodations. The pillows were the best ever and the bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed having a bathtub to soak after long days hiking. Very convenient parking.Nearby activities: The park is not too far away

Great staff who are kind and helpful. Average continental breakfast. About 20 minutes from Acadia. Very clean and quiet rooms, family and dog friendly. Beds are mediocre. Would stay again if visiting the park.

Not a fancy place, but the place is clean and the staff is excellent. They go out of their way to help with everything. The manager is really nice. Enjoyed our stay.

Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The gentleman that checked us in gave very good food recommendations. The place was very close to every places that we wanted to see. The rooms were very spacious. Was surprised to see that there was a table with 4 chairs for eating. One thing that I would recommend is to put at least one grab bar to help you get in out of the tub. Would highly recommend this place. If we ever get back to the area will definitely stay here.Rooms: Could not believe how spacious the rooms were. The rooms were really clean as the rest of the inn..Nearby activities: Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was only 19 miles from the inn which was really great.

Will definitely be spending my time here when I come back through, can't say enough about the place, from the dig friendly atmosphere to the hospitality of the staff and the reasonable rates for a clean place, I recommend it highly.Rooms: CleanNearby activities: Everything is nearby

Upon check in the gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly!! He gave us great recommendations for places to eat! The room was clean and comfortable! The people in the lobby were very friendly and their dog Gracie was absolutely adorable!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!! If we are ever in the area again we will be back!!

Nice hotel. Rooms were recently renovated ( we stayed in family suite) and looked nice. One bed was lopsided but overall, decent accommodations. Hallway and lobby are outdated but my guess is they will renovate soon. Hotel looks very outdated from outside so hopefully so upgrades to that as well. Pool was not heated as advertised.

It was not what we expected. A few steps to get into building so not HC or wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms were not either. But beds were comfortable. Rooms spacious. The room had a slight smell. Not cigarettes. The free breakfast was fruit, poptarts, asst bars, nothing hot except the coffee.

Likes the updates to the room. Cleaning staff was great. Would like to see better breakfast options like fresh fruits and yogurt or cereals. Bathroom was clean and shower was spacious. Lots of storage for longer stays.

So disappointed in the communication at the front desk. My sister called ahead to check if the pool was open, they said yes. So the room was booked, 24 hours later when she arrived, theemployees were rude, when she asked the pool hours which they then informed her the pool has been closed for the season.. When she asked management/ the owner he was extremely disrespectful. Do Not Book online if you are looking for amenities they lie!

Incredibly small room for the price. For another $5 I could have stayed at a much nicer hotel. Asked if it was quiet since I was exhaust and noticed an almost empty parking lot. But still had to listen to a dog bark every time there was a slight noise.

It was nice staying there, the beds were comfortable and it was nice overall. For a roadtrip with friends it was good, even if it could do with a little bit of cleaning. The room smelled a little bit weird.
