I was overwhelmed, how efficient the pharmacy was to fill my out of state prescription! The pharmacy tech was very polite and my prescription was filled promptly!!

Well you probably already know our entire healthcare system is broken and corrupt, comrades, that being said this is the worst slowest inept understaffed headache of a pharmacy. Granted they are doing vaccines and covid tests but they need more staff in the pharmacy. Pre filling of script--they don't actually answer their phone in the pharmacy--you get put on hold forever then hung up on. You can't check your script status based on your phone number. You can't talk to a person. They just put you on hold for 20-30+ min which if you have a life and no tedious task at hand is excruciating. Post filling-- you'll wait for at least 15 min in line in store just to pay for a filled script or even worse, 20-30 min in the drive thru. I can't even imagine what it's like to work here, I feel so sorry for the pharmacists and techs but Walgreens is a multimillion dollar company and should have proper staffing and recruiters. Ellsworth has been taken over by coorporations post Walmart there is just crap chain and franchises- a lack of locally owned business. And with dispensing fees of roughly $40 per shot paid by the government its almost all profit since the chains don't buy the vaccines, these multinational conglomerate pharmacies will collect a nice little bonanza pay day. That's for a company with a 900 billion annual rev, a company who is using email addresses and data gathered from distributing vaccines and likely not just from advertising and promotional emails.

I've used Walgreens for my prescriptions for years in other parts of the country because they're usually located pretty central to the rest of town. I moved here to Ellsworth in 2019 and have been using this Walgreens for two years. I can't stress enough how horrible this place is. It's time for me to get out of my comfort zone and find another pharmacy. You will always wait in ridiculously long lines at this Walgreens trying to pick up your prescriptions. While you wait, you will always watch how rudely the staff immediately treats the customers ahead of you. Even the elderly. It will make you uncomfortable. Then they will mess up your prescription, not once not twice, but multiple times and not be the least apologetic. It's like they strive to be as inconvenient & ill-mannered as possible. I'm very patient but today was my last visit.

I am not going to disagree that this Walgreens location is extremely busy and that I as a long time Walgreens customer i Have experienced extremely long wait times! I would just like to say that the people who work at this pharmacy are extremely nice and always very helpful to customers they know as well as don't know! They are even still polite and kind when SO MANY people are giving them so much grief about whatever it may be; their prescription isn't ready cause they didn't call ahead, or they think the pharmacist is just supposed to know exactly everything about you and your situation. I frequent the pharmacy as my daughter is on a lot of medication for her illness, and you wouldn't believe the people who don't even know what meds they are there for or after waiting five minutes they become agitated and sigh and omg! What if it was you who had to deal with these people all day long! These people are hard workers and maybe they need some extra staff, I'm sure half the people who comment that don't even have a job! Anyway! So many people go to Walgreens for the prescription needs so it's expected to be busy! I know what to expect and I always call ahead! I'm always very polite even if I have to wait as I know they are doing the absolute best they can to serve me as well as hundreds more! especially during the covid 19 outbreak with vaccinations and test! Majority of the people in the drive thru are getting tested and that takes more then just a sec. I just think people should chill out a bit and put your self in the staffs shoes! Love not hate!

The pharmacy is ridiculously understaffed. It doesn't matter if you use the drive thru or stand in line, the wait is always long.

So slow. My prescription was called in at 1 PM and when I got there at 6:30 they said it would be another 15 minutes. Really. I said no thank you because 2 kids in the car that are not great at waiting. When we got home at 7:10 they were leaving a message that it was ready. 40 minutes later. Glad I didn't wait. Horrible service. It should have been ready and waiting hours ago. I guess I will change to Walmart. They don't have a drive through, but it is worth walking in to have it ready when you get there. I should not have to call 5 1/2 hours after it was called in to warn them I am on my way and to start getting it ready. It is the same every time I have been there.
