I sent my mother a priority mail package. It was a book from my Catholic Church. They didn’t give me a receipt for it, shouldn’t have needed one. Also had two word search puzzle books . The tracking number said it was delivered on a Saturday afternoon, when mother was outside doing yard work.
I sent a text asking her how she liked the gift… she called back asking what gift?!
I spent a half an hour on the USPS website trying to file a claim, which I couldn’t because it was a loop that just kept bringing me back to the claim information page. I finally called the 800 number to file a claim there. Darn phone message wanted me to get a link in my text messages to go to USPS.com. Heck no! Been there, done that.
Finally got through the Robo call and filed missing package report.
Today a gentleman from the Fryeburg post office called and said that he had a picture of the package being put in the mailbox in front of the house.
Well, mother’s mailbox is not in front of the house…. It’s on the other side of the dirt lane she lives on. Behind the mailboxes are woods. Also, she has her home number on the box.
Only 3 homes on the dirt lane, and she’s friends with the guy right behind her. I didn’t realize there was a third home, but she said that people from southern New England had a vacation home next to her friend back there…. But haven’t been up in awhile.
When she got home from running errands today, she checked that box and no package.
She said that she’s gotten other people’s packages and had to bring them to the post office. So there’s an issue with the carrier in that town.
I highly recommend having anything you send to this town to require a signature.
Very disappointing.
Zero stars for this post office. Didn’t appreciate the guy’s tone on that call this morning.

Google searched showed this location as having a notary public. Found out in a less than friendly manner that they do not have a notary.

Nobody ever grabs our letters that we put in our mailbox even with the flag up. They will continually put mail in our mailbox and put the flag down. Sometimes our packages gets sent to our neighbors instead of us as well. However, this time it went on highland park rd when we live across from the fair! They need to either fire people responsible or make them do their job. It’s frustrating when we have to always drop off our mail as they don’t pick it up. We’re really disappointed…

I was staying locally for almost a month, so I had to get some items delivered by USPS, no worries right? Well some places on private roads still don't have USPS service...and I was staying at one. What to do? Call the local USPS office and ask if they can hold the package there for you to pick up. No worries. Called in, showed up the next morning (had to wait until it came back on the truck) and picked up my package. Excellent phone and in person service! Parking was easy in their decent size parking lot.

Two things: Please stop leaving my medication in the sunlight when it can clearly fit in the mailbox, and, the packages containing the meds were crushed (First class mail, btw). About $600 in meds ruined. It's not just the delivery from today. I have two other deliveries from the VA, prescription glasses, sent to me at different times ( Both arrived with damaged contents and packaging, first class mail. I'm beginning to see a trend.

I called to find out why an express mail package was scanned as received and attempted delivery at the same time. He said the local camps come to pick packages up the next day. I asked when the last scan will be made. He said when the carrier downloads the scanner data. I said yes, but when is the final scan itself made? He still didn't understand (or was avoiding the question) that i just wanted a general time that the final scans are made. So then i tried "WHERE is the scan made? At the post office, or the camp, or where? He repeated the camp picks them up, still never answering when or where the scans were made. This was important because the camp was saying it didn't arrive and the tracking was say delivery attempted. This went on for awhile (the phone call lasted 3 minutes) until he got angry and hung up on me.
