My 2006 Cargo Van was in need of body work/rust repair. It is extremely difficult to find businesses that perform this service. I found Alternative/Jared online. The work was extensive and he and his crew did a great job at a fair price. It was finished way ahead of schedule as well!

Jared and his nephew did a fantastic job repairing the rotted out rockers on my 2010 4Runner. They are willing to do the work most people won’t touch and they do it very well. They are very fair and transparent. If I ever need their services again I will definitely be back!

I was very satisfied with how Jared and Devin got rid of the rust on my car. There was some rail dust they weren’t able to remove due to not having a buffer, but Jared recommended me a place for that. I would definitely use their services again.

I am one of those owners of an older Toyota Tacoma truck (2004) that I cannot bear to part with. I was lucky enough to get a new frame through Toyota's rust recall some years back, but I was not paying attention to the rust that was steadily compromising the rocker panels and door panels. I got a referral to Alternative Autobody from a trusted body shop and am thanking my lucky stars, because Jared and his nephew saved my truck. As many other reviewers have stated, Jared is an expert in his specialty, honest in his business dealings, and generous with his time and knowledge. I trusted him immediately and it was well deserved. His estimate was accurate and the work was done sooner than I had any right to expect. You just can't find a better combination in an automotive professional! If you live in the area and have an older vehicle that you love and want to preserve, I highly recommend you take it to Alternative Aubody and let them take a look. I also recommend their annual treatment with Fluid Film, a nontoxic substance made with lanolin (a natural byproduct of sheep's wool) that minimizes the relentless ravages of rust on your vehicle. I wish I had known about it years ago.

My 2013 Ford F150 needed rocker panels replaced. Jared explained how he could do the job for me one of two ways depending on how bad the rockers were. He actually showed me one he was working on and how it would look when done. Extremely happy with how it came out. Great work done by great guy. Thanks Jared! I'll see you with any future needs!

Great work, great price, great relief to have the repairs expertly madeWhen waxing my 1994 Acura Integra GS-R in October, I found a spot in front of the right rear wheel where rust had working in the paint. The car is not a show car but I’ve owned in since new and have tried to keep it in good mechanical and cosmetic condition.I contacted the Gorham office of a local auto body and collision center franchise and they referred me to Jared Skillings and his Alternative Auto Body shop as the rust repair and prevention expert. I am glad they did.I visited Jared’s web site and was very pleased with the details it contained as well as the excellent reviews posted by past customers. So, I called and made an appointment to bring the car in for him to take a look. When arriving for the appointment, it was immediately clear that Jared not only knew what he was doing but also cared about what he was doing. He explained exactly how he would fix the problem and that he would check out several hidden areas and fix any problem found as needed plus apply POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating to prevent rust from occurring. We made an appointment to bring the car in for the needed work.When the car was ready for pickup, I was very pleased with the measures taken to repair the existing rust spot and a couple of other small spots he found. He also explained how he used the POR-15 to kill rust in inaccessible spots that might otherwise occur in the future. It was a great relief to me that the Integra was good to go for a long time to come. Jared’s work was not only exceptional but the price was very reasonable.Jared is a professional and an artisan. He is also a very good guy; very personable and understanding. He was also very accommodating in helping me deliver the car to his shop and back home when the work as completed. This was a happy experience for me and I am pleased to provide Jared my highest recommendation.

Jared has been doing yearly fluid film on my 3 vehicles for over five years and does a fantastic job. My mechanic, at Charlie’s in Augusta, commented that he has never seen fluid film done so well. Jared is very detailed when applying fluid film. My mechanic stated it was applied throughout the underneath, even in small crevices, where most fluid film applicators generally only spray the frame. Jared has always done fantastic work. To hear comments, from a certified mechanic, that whoever is doing my fluid film is the best he has ever seen, is a true testament to the kind of quality work you will receive from Jared!Thank you Jared, for contributing to the longevity of my vehicles!
