“I stayed at the motel for two nights while hiking the Bond Coast and visiting Lubeck. This is a great base camp when you're hiking, exploring Down East Maine, or simply passing through. The room was nice and clean. I called ahead and asked for an early check-in since I was in the area, and they called me as soon as the room was ready. The nearest town, Machias is only about ten minutes away where there is a Hannaford's and some restaurants. Strongly recommend if you're looking for a base camp.”

“Rooms were clean, comfortable. Great view of river with outside access. Wifi iffy but serviceable. Best quality is location: walk to Helen's. 30 min drive to puffin tour, about an hour to Lubec & Campobello. Be sure to visit Bold Coast Coffee & chat w owner”

“We stay at this motel every time we visit family. It’s super convenient, great prices and the staff is great. They recently had a fire, so they are in the middle of construction with their front building. It’s coming along really well and I’m sure the rooms will be great. The old ones that are in the back are fine. Room is clean, plenty of space. The bathrooms are outdated and a bit old, but everything works well and the hot water is very hot. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the beds and pillows are incredibly uncomfortable. Both are hard as rocks and make for a restless sleep. I am a bigger person, so it was tough on my body, but even my niece and mum who are way smaller than me had a hard time with them. I think if they updated the beds, this place would be perfect. We like how close it is and that it’s all one level.”
