Pros:
- Great location
- Clean rooms / bathrooms
Cons:
- Staff not very welcoming or friendly
- Staff doesn’t work past 4pm
- Breakfast is embarrassing— Frosted Flakes and cheap coffee
Spend a bit more and stay at the White Barn Inn… it’s worth it!

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Dock Square. Location is perfect if you want to be walking distance from all the shops and restaurants in town. Room was lovely and the hotel was very quiet. A very short drive (or a good walk) to the beach and Parsons Way. We had zero issues and really enjoyed the stay. I gave 4 stars for the room only because the hanging and dresser space was realllly tiny, no big deal for us as it was a short trip but might be tough if staying longer. We would come back!

Always a treat to be here! Ogunquit really is a Beautiful Place by the Sea. The Grand Hotel is close to The Marginal Way, Perkins Cove and the center of town. The rooms are large and comfortable. It's just where you'd want to be, if you were here!

Terrible shower, tiny, no real closet or drawers or anywhere to put your clothes. However it was clean, bed was comfy and located in town.

When I come back to visit Portland this is where I will stay. Certainly worth the 30 min drive. The hotel is charming and oh so comfortable and Eric at the front desk is the best…friendly and helpful!
Rooms: Very clean and comfortable I felt like I was home!!!

We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Kennebunkport and were pleased. It is odd that there isn’t anyone at the front desk. We did have to go to their ‘sister property’ to get our keys, which was easy enough but they should probably tell guests before arrival that this is the procedure and that there is no one on site. Our room was beautiful and very spacious. We had a 2nd floor king room with a balcony, there was a mini fridge in the room. The bathroom is lovely, the heated floor is so nice but the bathroom lighting is a little dim. The continental breakfast was very nice with a lot of options (bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit). The location of the hotel is great, all restaurants and shops are walkable. We would definitely stay at this property again.
Rooms: Fabulous king room with balcony. Tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, heated bathroom floor.
Walkability: Able to walk to all shops and restaurants

For all those looking for an Honest review… stay as far away as you can from this Grand Hotel. There are no services, no front desk. It’s a remotely run operation. The keys they send you remotely for access via phone do not work and are unreliable. Then you walk 20 minutes down the road to have another hotel give you actual keys to access front door and elevator and your room. When you finally arrive to your room the “vouchers” they claim will be there with a welcome letter may have another guests name on it and be Void of any $50 food voucher. It’s almost comical how this “hospitality” is run this days. Sad that this was the place we ended up in but we hope this review will shed some true light on this operation. We don’t feel this is a good value by any means and will not be recommending or returning.

The staff were fantastic, check in was smooth and some of the best hotel service I have received in recent memory. We were supposed to be staying at a sister property but we're moved due to a pending storm surge concern and the process could not have been smoother, and the staff could not have been more welcoming and professional. The only thing I wished for was a mini fridge in the room (manager told me later on they plan to add them soon), and possibly a bit bigger continental breakfast if we were staying more than just the 2 nights. I would also suggest adding instructions to the check in emails letting folks know to move the white cones in one of the hotel dedicated parking spots to park as it wasn't immediately clear at first arrival, but the dedicated parking meant we always had parking available even when returning late at night. This and Kennebunkport inn are perfectly located to all the shopping, main dining, bars, etc. I feel the price paid per night was fair for the hotel given its location, and I appreciate the fantastic customer service and going above and beyond to recognize our anniversary and calling our restaurant ahead of time to let them know as well.
Rooms: The room was smallish but just perfect for a 2 night stay with a balcony overlook and water view.
Nearby activities: Shopping, site seeing, beach, restaurants, brewery/bar
Walkability: Perfectly walkable to all the dining and shopping and restaurants.
Food & drinks: Spitting distance to a great brewery, they have several delicious restaurants in their hotel property portfolio a few coffee shops, a couple of good breakfast spots, fantastic seafood options abound.

I had some questions/concerns based on other reviews of the Grand Hotel. We booked a "Grand King with Balcony" and were assigned room 202. We got to Kennebunkport early, so we went to the Kennebunkport Inn to pickup physical key cards. We also had the app downloaded. The front desk at the Kennebunkport Inn was helpful and welcoming.
The overall hotel feels up to date and clean. It has an elevator. Upon getting to our room, we were impressed with the cleanliness, quality and size. Everything was modern- the bathroom was excellent. The balcony was large and perfect if you wanted to look out onto the main street. We had no issues using the key card and/or the digital app.
The hotel was plenty quiet at night- barely heard anyone else, and it was sold out. There was no real noise from the road despite our room facing the main street.
My feeling is others who gave the property low reviews were due more to mismanaged expectations than anything else. I can understand if you are not comfortable using your phone as your key. I can also understand if you expected someone at the front desk when you checked in or if you were looking for more amenities such as a restaurant/bar in the hotel. All of this, though, is stated on their web site and should not be a surprise.
What was a positive was how welcoming everyone was and willing to help in any way! We loved our first visit to Kennebunkport, and look forward to returning- we'd definitely stay at the Grand again.

First of all great location, great room, clean. If you are visiting the area, it has one of the few public restrooms avilable if you are doing the Christmas events in the area. The hotel is in a beautiful location.

Great place to stay, smack in the middle of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.

The hotel is in a beautiful location. However there was no service. A similar review was posted below and I echo everything they wrote. The carpet had stains, the paper thin walls, hard to use heater and a non working tv remote. Not to mention we didn’t have access to WiFi and when we called the kennebunkport inn we pressed 0 for the operator/front desk but were then greeted with the answering machine.
This was truly a build your own adventure and I wish I had dug deeper into reviews to find that out prior.
Overall this was a good spot to put your stuff while you explored. But If you want service we would recommend their main hotel the kennebunkport inn. It seems like they have help around the property.

My wife and I booked a weekend stay and unfortunately had a family member pass away which made our trip impossible. Even though we had a no cancellation rate when we spoke with Emily and Murat they allowed us to postpone our trip with a full hotel credit. Thank you so much for understanding our situation and providing us with an alternative!
