Had fresh flowers to ship (after my daughter’s wedding) to a vendor in California. Based on Cali vendor instructions, I arrived at Coastal Shipping and learned my packaging would incur shipping in excess of $400 dollars—-I wanted to cry! Instead of letting me walk away in tears, the owner made suggestions to repackage flowers in two smaller boxes taped together and the shipping was half the original cost. “If you happen to be on foot on Main Street downtown Damariscotta, there is a delightful post office there beside Waltz Soda Fountain, but the parking is scarce during Summer and traffic from cars and pedestrians challenging. If you have a car, consider going to the station in Newcastle that has plenty of parking and very short lines for most of the day. The clerk is just as friendly here.”
