My family stayed here for the first time in August 2023. I have to say it reminded me of the quiet peaceful resorts of Adirondack resorts of my youth. They no longer exist but I am glad that places like Poland Springs Resort exists. I am so excited to be booked already for 2024. I like the charm, the history and its location. Hopefully, I’ll be back got many more years and continue this new tradition with my children and grandchildren.Nearby activities: Shaker Village; good local restaurantsSafety: No issue with safetyWalkability: Wonderful walkable pathsFood & drinks: We liked the grill at the Golf course

The people were great. The lobby was rustic. The room was clean but reminded me of a cheap no-tell motel. Bathroom was bare minimum. Vanity and shower were chincy. The faucet wasn't long enough that you couldn't even fit your hands under it to wash. Good people, but the place needs to be upgraded. A lot !

Had a great stay at the Lodge! Rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. The golf course was great and the greens were in perfect condition. GM Mark and the owner Cyndi were incredibly hospitable, and were always available for questions and recommendations in the area. Wonderful place to stay if you enjoy history.

Far from modern, but we loved the nostalgia and quaintness of the place! No elevator we were on the second floor It wasn't a concernComfortable bed tooFree coffee and tea in the morning with a friendly staff !A big porch with ample seating and a full bar to have a cocktail out there! To top it off a museum on the property that holds loads of history .We stayed 4 nights! It certainly suited our needs !

We checked in and found our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very clean and manicured. Some of the structure needs paint and has been left unattended. The hotel is very dated, no modernization has been made other than WiFi since what appears the late 70's. The rooms have thin wooden doors and old deadbolts. The scoring of the deadbolts shows the decades of keys that have been used to open the door. Once in the room, we found a clean room with again dated furnishings. I sat on the sofa and discussed with my wife the room as well as the possibility of getting a decent nights rest. We looked at the bed, a king size mattress neatly made with linens from what looked out of my grand mothers home. We noticed the curves in the mattress and decided they had not been replaced since the deadbolts were installed. At that point we decided we quietly checked out and when asked why politely told the desk attendant the room wasn't up to our standards.Rooms: Below industry standards.

A great experience overall. Great buffets at excellent prices. We stayed in the presidential inn - room was right off the front door and a little noisy with other guest traffic. Nice historic property in a scenic location.

We booked the room because we wanted space enough for our son and it said it offered a bath and could accommodate 3 adults. When we got there we had to rebook our stay and so did the people who were in-front of us. Then we got to the room which was a small room which was clearly cheaply put together. It was not the double room that the listing offered. There was no bath either instead we got a tiny standing shower. Which our son is not old enough for showers yet. There was also no second bed which the listing said there would be. So we know we were not given the right room. When we tried to talk to the receptionist we were told we get what we pay for and that was it. Overall would not recommend.

Not worth the price. For almost $200/night it's very outdated and NO maid service on a daily basis, which wouldn't have been bad if they at least took out the garbage can next to my room which stunk up the whole hallway for 3 days. When asked the front desk if it would be possible to service the garbage I was told "I'm the only one here". That's the second time they answered an issue I had with giving me their staff schedule. Who they have on the schedule has nothing to do with me. For $200/night take out the communal trash!

This hotel was stuck somewhere between 1950 and 1970. The rooms were terribly old and dirty. Walls paper thin. Hallway looked like some sketchy apartment.Food: breakfast was a terrible, over priced buffet set in a ballroom, function room that was straight out of dirty dancing. One morning I asked for sugar for my coffee and was told there was none. Breakfast only served for 90mim.No ice machine. Was told you can buy ice. I snuck my water bottle into the breakfast area but after that area is closed for the day, you’re out of luck.Towels were ridiculously small. Like hair towel sized. Went to the front desk to get more and was told they had no more that day. So basically, we were out of luck. We weren’t even originally given enough for our room.I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall... It depends. If you find the old style charming and have golf lovers in your group - maybe this place is for you. If you're anyone else, this place probably isn't for you.We stayed in the Maine Inn. Check-in was easy and the people at the desk were friendly. The hotel and rooms definitely have an old style and feel to them. The hallways and doors to the rooms remind me of an older college dorm type setup. It's not a modern hotel vibe. I can see how some people might find it creepy at night. It's a quite location, at least at the Maine Inn. Once we were off the road, it felt like it was pretty secluded. The grounds are nice and well kept. There was a wedding going on while we were there and it looked like a nice outdoor setup. If you're a golfer, you'd definitely appreciate this place. If you stay in the Maine Inn, the course is right outside. The room itself wasn't special, but it wasn't terrible. Bed was okay. View was decent. Bathroom is quite dated and small.Breakfast was available, but not included. We skipped it since it wasn't included. There's a library in the Maine Inn. It's kind of cool if you love books and the library feel. There's not really anything recent in there, so don't look for recent releases. There are some classics and older books though (early 1930s).We tried Cyndi's Dockside, down the road, for dinner. It was pretty good!

This is a beautiful resort, it is dated so the rooms were not the best that we have stayed in... But there is a lot to do- driving range, golfing, mini golf, museums, pool. Our kids had lots of fun.

For the 9th year we rented a huge cottage for 16 people and had an amazing time. Big shout out to the staff at the course and the clubhouse restaurant just a great bunch of people. We are definitely coming

My first thought, upon arriving, was "what in the Dirty Dancing meets the Shining is this place". it is literally something out of the 1960s, and not in a good way. The main building is so incredibly dated. There’s a layer of grime over every surface. The rooms smell like mildew and sadness. The food was atrocious the breakfast oatmeal was gelatinous, the scrambled eggs were watery, and the hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict was broken, the fish cakes at our dinner event were so salty they were inedible. Somehow, the baby carrots managed to be both burned and raw at the same time. The worst part, though was the accessibility issue I had with my service dog. I travel with a seizure alert dog. They were aware of this when I made the booking, he was clearly in full gear and they still asked all sorts of invasive questions about my health at check-in to “prove“ that he was a service dog. this is highly illegal according to the ADA. then, at breakfast, they tried to tell me that I could only sit in one corner, furthest away from the Buffay because of the dog. This is also illegal and it goes against the ADA. People with disabilities are not to be segregated from the rest of the clientele simply because of their disability. I literally had to pull up the ADA website stating that they weren’t allowed to do that before they would let me sit with the rest of my party, and the older woman who was giving me such a hard time then told me that someone else needed to get my food, that I couldn't walk through the dining room with the service dog. I pointed out on the Ada website that this was also illegal, and she rolled her eyes and left me alone, but spent the rest of the time my party was in the breakfast room complaining loudly to the other employee that 'people who aren't blind don't need dogs' and that my service dog was 'probably fake'. my service dog is impeccably well behaved. He has had thousands of dollars and years of training. I have never felt so ostracized in my life. And it made every single meal that I had to eat in that room incredibly uncomfortableThe grounds are beautiful. It’s in a fantastic location. But the buildings are uncapped, the decor is filthy and dated. The staff is surly. honestly this place belongs on Gordon Ramsay‘s hotel Hell.

I have attended events at Poland Springs resort several times in the past few years. In 1964 I worked here for the summer. The recent visits have been to attend Newfoundland Day celebrations consisting of an original old fashion boiled dinner, and much dancing and singing along to wonderful Newfoundland traditional music, a Newfoundland home goods and memorabilia raffle, and an Honorary Newfoundlander Kiss-the-Cod ceremony. I can tell you, fun was had by all. And I did attend the most recent Newfoundland Day on June 17th last week. I am sorry to say, but a recently posted review of PSR and this event was seriously flawed and unfair. The Resort is in the category of a Grand Old Lady from early 1900’s, but with plenty up-to-date modern improvements. The entire Resort is clean and comfortable, and there are no lingering odors of the 1900’s. The Staff is polite, attentive, and exceptionally accommodating. At this years Newfoundland Day just about everyone was frequently up on the floor dancing and singing. The food, was the typical old fashion Newfoundland boiled dinner (corned beef, boiled potatoes, fish cakes, carrots, etc…not my favorite, but the salad was excellent…if you come for Newfoundland Day you get what you expect…the traditional Nufi Boiled Dinner). As I said, everyone enjoyed the dancing, including a person with a support dog (with no vest) on a leash. BYW, there is a long ramp at the entrance for wheelchairs, a large and comfortable lounge with a snack bar, and a price-is-right well stocked bar.

Didn't stay at the resort instead went to the museum for an event. Found the signage on this whole site to be weak. Confusing, hard to find your way around
