I dropped in for a week while I was visiting Portland. What a great community they have here! The workouts were fun and challenging. I really appreciated that there wasn't too much crammed into the hour, allowing for a proper warmup for all workouts and sufficient rest periods between sets for the strength sessions. The coaches were very involved throughout each class and offered a variety of movements to accommodate different levels of skill and ability from each person. I liked the layout of the facility, and there was plenty of space for the size of the classes to allow everybody to move safely. Overall, one of the best gyms I have visited in my travels over the years. I would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

I joined CrossFit Casco Bay when I moved back to Maine in 2022 and it has been great experience! It is a welcoming and judgement free gym. The coaches are very knowledgeable and are dedicated to providing every member a great workout!

CrossFit Casco Bay is AWESOME.AMAZING PEOPLE ALL AROUND, from the coaches to members, everyone is friendly and it's an incredibly supportive and positive community. I joined the CFCB back in September 2022 and I'm so happy I did. Shout-out to the owner Nick for nurturing such a cool community.CLASSES THAT FIT ANY SCHEDULE: need a workout for lunch break? Check. Need a workout early in the morning? Check. More of a "after work" class? Check! Each class and each coach has their own style, you'll have a good time and a really good workout with them all.COACHES ARE AWESOME: whether you want to push yourself hard OR have an injury and need to scale back, they'll help you adjust workouts every time. Shout out to Coaches Keena, Alex, Zach and Audrey, you're amazing!THE FACILITIES ARE GREAT, solid equipment and great layout of the space. Coaches (and members) take good care of things and upgrades are made equipment/space-wise regularly too. Everyone cares about the space and community very much, adding a little bit to make it better over time.AWESOME IF YOU'RE A PARENT TRYING TO STAY FIT: As a dad of two kiddos, I regularly do a class with the kiddos hanging-out on the sidelines (snacks+show). A few other parents do the same, really nice to have a supportive space in that way.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, try out a free class or the community class on Sunday morning to check it out. Really awesome community!

CrossFit Casco Bay is a special place. And it’s no secret why. It’s the community. It’s the coaches. It’s the classes.1. Community- whether you show up at 5:15am (when you’d rather be asleep) or at 5:30pm (after a long day of work), you’re always among a smiling, supportive group of athletes. We represent all ability levels. We share a genuine desire to see each other succeed. When you’re struggling to finish a challenging workout, you’ll find that extra motivation when you hear others cheering you on. It’s not just another gym.2. Coaches- Keena, Zach, Audrey, Alex, and Nick are foremost teachers who care about each athlete’s safety and development. As a relative newcomer who has struggled with technique, I appreciate the individualized attention the coaches give me and others to build good habits. They embody a “go slow to go fast later” philosophy. Sure it can feel frustrating when I’m eager to move faster, but I’m grateful the coaches insist on doing things right (and safe). It’s clear the coaches do what they do because they have our best interests in mind. In addition to being tremendous teachers, they are just wonderful people, too.3. Classes- the number of classes offered each day, the one-hour class commitment, and the variety of workouts all make CrossFit Casco Bay the perfect gym experience. We all have busy schedules, but it’s hard to find an excuse not to be able to make it to a class. As someone who’s generally trying to get a balanced workout and improve all parts of the body, I’ve really enjoyed the CrossFit workouts.

Highly recommend CFCB for athletes of all types and skill levels! The gym has been great for me - someone who joined with zero experience with barbells, and limited experience with everything other than cardio. I've progressed at a consistent pace, and as others have noted, the environment is highly supportive and community-oriented. CFCB is worth the time and investment, and I'm so glad I decided to check it out a year and a half ago.

Great facility with friendly staff and members. Everyone is welcome and accepted here. The best place around to take those first steps into the fitness world or to take your fitness to the next level. The owner and all coaches are always there to help you set and reach your goals.

I joined CFCB about a year and half ago and couldn’t be happier I did! It’s really lives up to “the fun gym.” Everyone is so welcoming and motivates you to want to keep coming, work hard, and get better!

I joined CrossFit Casco Bay as soon as I moved to Portland in October 2022, and I'm so glad I did. Having a good environment in a box is really important to me, and CFCB is such a welcoming community. The coaches are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I look forward to the familiar faces at the 5:30pm class so that we can push and cheer for each other in our workouts. I appreciate that the coaches always give a variety of scaling options so that everyone can participate, regardless of injury or ability.

I began attending group classes at this CrossFit earlier this year. The instructors are great: very attentive to beginners, smart about warm ups to avoid injuries, & vigilant about learning good form when working out. As for other gym members, they are incredibly welcoming & encouraging. I'm grateful to be a part of a community that promotes physical well being and social connection with others.

I joined CFCB in January after moving to Maine. Having spent the few years traveling and in and out of gyms all over, I can confidently say that CFCB is one of the top fitness organizations I’ve been to. The coaches are awesome and spend time and energy working with each member to tailor their experience to their level and needs. The facility offers a number of great programs that fit your schedule. Keena and Zach are Friendly, knowledgable and talented coaches that make for a fun and fulfilling workout experience !The class time and open gym availability certainly help balance my challenging schedule!Highly recommend!

I was hesitant about joining the gym a few years ago because I had never done something like this but needed something to keep me moving in-between my high school sports seasons. I took the leap, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Even though I was the youngest one at the gym, by a lot, I really felt welcomed into the community. I wanted to go as much as possible. I could feel my strength growing. The coaches pushed me to do my best and created a safe space for me. The workouts can be adapted to all abilities and I found that really helpful. Two years later, I still can't find anything I like as much as this place. I've been to a few other CrossFit gyms around the US but nothing is as good as this place.

Wasn't the best welcome anyone in my group has ever received dropping into another gym. Our welcome, after we declared we were dropping in, was "I can see that". From there, it was nothing but a series of shaming, despite our efforts to reach out to the gym ahead of time. 1. It is not our fault your website is misleading. We filled out the "drop in" form, but nothing populated from it. 2. It is not our fault you don't have paper waivers on hand. 3. We could have happily tended to the waiver and payment at the end of class. 4. Had you looked like you were open, we wouldn't have sat in the car for 10 minutes prior to coming in. 5. People showed up after us, who were happily welcomed in, though I assume they were members. Despite, being timely shouldn't be selective. We never caught the name of the coach, because she didn't take the time to introduce herself. As a coach myself, this is poor PR. First impressions are everything; and had I not been eager for a workout, I would have turned around and left. I will be seeking alternative gyms next time I come to town. Despite these flaws, the workout was a good one and there were a handful of members that made the effort to interact with my group and myself. Community is everything, and if nothing else, they seem like they have a good one going.

I joined shortly after moving to Portland, looking for community and a new workout program (former meathead here). Couldn't be more happy with the results and friends I've made. The head coach (Ryan) and the other coaches are down to earth, knowledgeable, and give you just the right amount of motivation to keep you grinding through some of the best (hardest) workouts I've ever done. Casco Bay is great for all skill sets and they really care about your growth, and so does the person next to you cheering you on to get those last burpees done.

Love this place! I used to just lift at the gym until I started coming here, now I want to be here everyday. You will see progress quick here. Great coaches, other athletes and equipment. It really is the fun gym! Try it!
