The complaints concerning phone advice and service problems are like whining about the cold weather - what did you expect, anyway? If people need a hand holder then they should not be with Fidelity. Try your local stock gouger. He'll answer all your questions and charge five dollars a minute for "advice".Fidelity is top notch. I am in Portland frequently to visit my son but I have never felt the need to go into the Fidelity office. Why? This is a hands off low load / no load / no frills mutual find company that just so happens to offer many of the options that full service offers - without the service...When I want money / transfers / notaries / etc - I go into my credit union. They like holding hands and they also sell mittens.

Tried for the last week to move money from our brokerage account to our local bank account to fund Xmas gifts to our children. After 4 phone calls (the web site does not allow on line transfers), we were told that since we did not click on a hidden link referenced in a message on our brokerage account we would have to start all over. We ended up driving in person to the nearest Fidelity office to authorize a wire transfer and sign the wire paperwork in person. Our next stop was the nearby Schwab office to initiate the transfer of our accounts there. We are 30+ year customers of Fidelity with 7 figure account balances.

Million dollar client and have been with the Portland , Maine office since 1988. I have never had a need to go elsewhere (although I have looked into it before ). You receive the same level of professional guidance as a full service broker but without the 1% a year fee ! The 24 hour phone service and website can’t be beat !

Horrible customer service. Number to contact for fraud concern was not responded to as was on hold for about an hour, hearing the infuriating message, "Your call is very important to us". I also called the other number listed on the website and received the same message, placed on hold, never being able to speak to anyone. I even tried the virtual assistant and responses appeared canned as they did not make sense. Makes me wonder if I am with the right company. Very disappointed and angry!!

Waiting on hold for over an hour multiple days a week trying to get in touch with someone about my money. Was given the option to receive a call back and have my place in the phone line held. Never received a call back. This is unacceptable!

Absolutely horrible customer service. On hold for 25 min, then disconnected,,, and to think I have my money in this place.

The lengthy waits for regional telephone agents is unprofessional. Yet I have found the agents working the front desk in the Portland office to be highly knowledgeable and helpful.

Handy downtown location. Professional and helpful staff. Comfortable office with newspapers, financial magazines and fact sheets. Only other review is outdated...map location is correct now.
