I have initiated a complaint with the Maine Attorney General's office. He agreed to install a bathtub and tile. He left holes in the wall of the adjacent bedroom. The grout is full of voids. He didn't use spacers so the tiles are akimbo and not flush against the wall. Do not use this contractor. He says he can do the job, but really he can't. I expected much better for $8,000.

I wish I had seen the reviews from back in 2011 and 2014! Dana doesn't own a storefront anymore, but the patterns have continued. He will scam you!! If you are thinking about hiring Dana - owner of Good Earth Furniture - run away now!!! I have purposely delayed writing this review so that my emotions didn't get the best of what I have to share. We hired Dana to finish our family room. We were originally impressed by the photos that Dana posted of his previous projects, and ultimately chose him based on his enthusiasm about the job and the ideas he had for the space. His quote was comparable to other contractors, but also very reasonable. We were so wrong about Dana. We feel completely scammed and taken advantage of. It's unclear if he is lazy, or dishonest and took a job that he doesn't have the skill to complete. It's probably a combination of both. Initially he said he would complete the job in a month. A month became two, and two went on three. We are patient people and understood that he owns an independent business and had other jobs. However, as time went on he seemed to put other jobs in front of finishing ours. There were many days that he would spend "working" all day upstairs, and when he left we were puzzled as we tried to figure out what he did. We left for a previously scheduled vacation over a month after he was supposed to be done the project. We did not feel comfortable leaving him a key to our home as he requested, as at that point we already had our concerns and reservations about him. We all agreed that he would return to work when we returned a week later. He never returned. There were many unfinished portions of the room, and what was done was done incredibly poorly. He later said he didn't finish the job because we "pushed him out" when we went on vacation. We stupidly had already paid him in full, as he was honest and said that he was struggling to make ends meet, and would need the rest of the money to finish the project. He later admitted that he still ran out of supplies (that we had paid him for) so did the best he could - for example, only applying one thin coat of paint on the walls, resulting in many areas where you could see the un-sanded mud underneath. Dana did say that he expected that we would have a "punch list" for him of things to fix. Even to my untrained eye, the work was horrible. Frankly, we were embarrassed to show people the space. The "built in cabinet" he made was constructed of 2x4's and dry wall compound. It was completely unfinished. Rather than drilling the stairway spindles, he SAWED OFF the top and bottom sections and GLUED THEM to the floor. Even simple things like hardware was done incorrectly (he installed silver chrome rather than the oil rubbed bronze fixtures that we asked for to match the rest of the house). The hardwood floor was clearly never cleaned properly before the finished it, resulting in bubbles and dirt underneath the lacquer. The bookshelves he installed had no supports and were barely attached to the wall, so they barely held any books before bowing under the weight. I could keep going... While we are incredibly upset, ultimately Dana probably did us a favor by not finishing the job, because it was less for the new contractor to fix. Everything had to be knocked down and started from the ground up. We tried to salvage what we could, but he really left nothing to work with. The shelves he made weren't even square!! I urge you - do not hire Dana!! Do yourself a favor and find someone who will do quality work.

I hired this contractor to rebuild my small front porch and he completed that project. I immediately hired him for a similar, but larger project to resurface an outside stairway and small deck in September, 2019. That project was partially completed and he stopped work in November 2019 in a state that made the stairway unusable and unsafe. Promises were made in early March that he would return in April and that's the last I've heard from him. He has not responded to my repeated telephone and email messages. Beware! He owes me and other people in my neighborhood many thousands of dollars.

If you are thinking about hiring Dana - owner of Good Earth Furniture - run away now!!! I have purposely delayed writing this review 4 months so that my emotions didn't get the best of what I have to share. We hired Dana to finish our 3rd floor family room. We were originally impressed by the photos that Dana posted of his previous projects, and ultimately chose him based on his enthusiasm about the job and the ideas he had for the space. We were hesitant to use Dana at first due to lack of recent reviews, but he seemed honest and his work looked good. Unfortunately, the job has turned into a nightmare. Dana has not completed the job months past the agreed-upon deadline, and always seems to be too busy with other jobs to complete ours. The work that he has completed is very poor, and we will have to hire another contractor to fix it. I am honestly embarrassed to tell people that we paid someone to do the work it looks so bad. Dana has taken all of our money and stopped all communication. Less
