I needed to talk to a person. The phone options only directed me to the website. There was no option to hold for a person. So, I pressed “0” several times, whereupon some businesses will say “please hold for assistance” or some such response. Not with Hertz...... the response I got was “Good-bye” and then a disconnect. That’s ok Hertz. I have money and I will never try to give Hertz my business again. :)

They gave us a car with a lagging steering wheel and the anti-collision system was not turned off by default. Very dangerous.

Rented in Portland Maine. Managers special rental was not in same class as reservation. Attendant was friendly & accommodating. Car interior & exterior was dirty & obviously not cleaned. I would rate it a solid 3 out of 5. For their overpriced rental Hertz doesn’t measure up at this location

Blonde lady is weird. Very cold. Face is screwed. I forgot my credit card so I had to come back. Why did they fail to tell me by the time I came back that they were going to be closed. Like why not tell me? I did say i lived 30min away!! I cancelled my reservation you don't want my business? Cool, I go where i feel welcomed and not tolerated. I'm no longer dealing with racist and their micro aggression.

We had a rental booked for 6 months, are about to board a flight to Portland, and this location cancelled the reservation at the last second. Thanks for making us panic before we started our much needed 5 day vacation. What is our recourse you might ask, probably nothing, but a review should suffice. Thanks. I will be renting from Enterprise in the future.
Side note, your copy paste auto response does not have any merit. We had to get another for 700 dollars more. So much for planning ahead $$.

Wouldn’t recommend this rental company to anyone. I typically use Enterprise but my company stated we have to use Hertz as they have a contract. I was told to call the night before to see if they could pick me up down the road at the repair shop. I tried to call for over an hour with no answer and no option to leave a voice mail as it states “no voicemail set up”. I tried again to call the morning for a hour with no luck. I had to Uber to Hertz. When I arrived a women couldn’t find my rental at first. I told her I tried to call for a few hours within the last two days to get a ride and she truly didn’t care as the phone kept ringing while I was there. She then had me sign on the keypad and tossed me the keys and said “spot 2”. I went to the car and noticed it had some damage. I went back into asking them to do a walk around/inspection with me so I wouldn’t be responsible for the damage she refused and stated very rudely they did one this morning on every car. She then screamed at me rolling her eyes as I was walking out “you have a great day”. Very poor customer service and rude employees. Save your time and go elsewhere.

Arrived around 11AM on Thursday after taking a 10 minute Uber ride from the airport, and was quickly checked in and provided a vehicle. Our booking was for a small sedan, however we were provided a small SUV (Nissan Rogue). We didn't need the extra space and would have rather had better gas mileage with the sedan, but not a big deal for us. Car ran well and was relatively clean (steering wheel was a bit tacky). Checkout process was just as smooth as check in. At less than half the price of the airport Hertz, I will have to give my experience 5 stars.

This location was amazing! We couldn’t get a car at the airport, so I found this location and ubered to it right before they closed at 4pm. They were super sweet and turned their computers back on and got us all set up. Got us pointed in a direction for dinner and off we went. Return was equally as friendly. They asked all about our adventure and gave us tips for our next visit. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

They overcharged me! I talked to people in the office, representatives on the phone, and online. Nobody has gotten back to me!

Manager refused to help us in any way after we had a reservation and didn’t have the right vehicle for a family of seven… wasn’t his responsibility or job to help us find one from another nearby hertz! Absolutely horrible customer service.

Terrible service all around. Read these reviews before you rent from here.
Rented a car from 6/14 to 6/17. Returned it promptly on time on the 17th. Bill was supposed to be $221 for the 3 days. I get a receipt the next day on the 18th showing a charge of $364. Receipt says I returned it a day late and I returned it to the portland airport (ALL LIES) which resulted in added fees. How can a mistake like this happen? I called multiple times on the 19th and finally got a hold of someone. The guy on the phone apologized for the mistake and said they will get this fixed and get back to me in 24 hrs. 48 hours later and still nothing. I cant even get through to anybody now. Bunch of scam artists. I will get my bank involved.

Wish I could give a 0. Absolutely terrible. I have had a trip planned for 6 months and the car reservation. When we arrived we were told they didn’t have the car and couldn’t help us. They wanted us to either stay the night or Uber for $100 to another place. They didn’t help at all. Then they threw us out into the rain.
