NOTE: REVIEW IS LOCATION SPECIFIC FOR JOANN FABRICS @ 1064 BRIGHTON AVE STE D, PORTLAND, ME 04102 I had to return to the store on 03.20.24 to return item due to the fact I had ordered 5 yds of continuous fabric for a reupholster project BUT rcv'd 2 pieces 2.5 yds ea, unsuitable for my project. When I returned to the store, the level of service was totally unacceptable. I am hearing impaired and was not provided consideration of employees removing face masks so I could read their lips. I calmly advised them (front counter worker & the alleged "store mgr") I could not understand what they were saying so they then began waving their arms around rather than simply lowering face masks. I was treated very badly by ALL staff including a woman who *represented herself as the store manager*. This woman continually rolled her eyes at me while she behaved in a very rude manner. What should have been a very simple return was extremely stressful, insulting, and took far too much time ALL due to the "manager's" hostile attitude and unprofessional mannerisms! When I asked her name, SHE REFUSED to provide. She then yelled at me in front of a line of customers she would "call the police" IF I took her picture with my phone to identify her to JOANN Corp complaint lines. I advised her to make the call and snapped her photo. I have shopped JOANN fabrics all of my life in several different areas and have never seen such horrible behavior at any location. In fact, I have never seen anyone of management level at any type of business or location behave as this woman behaved. My experience with this alleged *store manager* was shameful and without excuse. PS...I DID get that photo so she is on record waving her hands around and shouting and I will be happy to provide a copy to JOANN CORP (in the event they care to confirm this person is really one of their managers!). This place is horrible they aren’t kind. Make very unprofessional and rude jokes and are all around very sloppy and not a good place to be around

My issue is not with the store but Joanns Online. Ordered a bolt of Pellon quilt batting and 5 spools of thread. One spool of thread came by itself, 3 more spools came in a huge box, and the Pellon came by itself. Did not receive one of the spools of thread at all! Would not have ordered if I'd known what an awful carbon footprint they have. Sent a chat about the missing thread and got back a message that I need to contact the RETURNS dept. I made it clear I was MISSING an item. Not returning something. Sometimes when you try to save some time by ordering online, it just takes longer to straighten stuff out.

Update your hours. The only time I had to pick up my online order was Saturday morning and I arrived at 8:30 since Google maps says you open at 8. Well, you were closed.I guess I’ll be canceling my order now.

Good: Large selection - everything you can think of they have, friendly associates, excellent sale items and coupons.Not good: I'll never order online for delivery again! Ordering online to pick up at a store is better. I placed an order a week ago and no word yet, and I sent two messages and neither were answered. There is NO customer service phone number on the website, so you have to send a message, and they don't reply. I found a store manager that was willing to give me a number to call - and the woman told me it was shipping "now". That was two days ago. It didn't ship though and I wonder why she said that. Not doing this again. That process is customer un-friendly.

Staff on the floor was friendly and store was a lot cleaner and nicer then some other Joanns I’ve been to. The cashier we had was incredibly rude and condescending to us, I get retail jobs suck, but you don't need to drag everyone else down and be a j**** Thankfully my regular Joanns has amazing staff

Huge selection. It's quite pricey. Your best bet is to shop the sales. It isn't a very welcoming atmosphere but the cashiers are always super. I have found some good deals but, when possible I shop online and pay less.

if I could give negative stars I would! Gayle was mediocre, she lectured me about the fabric accidentally being dragged crossed the floor, well you know what her wrapping job was subpar. the cutting job was horrible, but she ended up not being rude in the end. Jamie however was the rudest person I have ever met. he yelled at an elderly women trying to get her coupons from the rewards app. he quote on quote said that helping with coupons is a kindness not a requirement and that he does not help with customers with coupons. he was very rude to me and my friend as well. un welcoming. unsatisfied. and the prices don't even get me started. Ridiculous I dandy even get my discount because Jamie was so intimidating.

I had the worst experience at JOANN, specifically with the woman who was cutting my fabric yesterday (03/15/2023 11:00 am). She was incredibly rude and argued with me over my need to return a back of bobbins. I was in shock and bewilderment. She told me if I “didn’t want to shop here then go somewhere else.” I never said I didn’t want to shop at JOANN, I said I needed to return my pack of bobbins. She continued to argue with me over and over again. Telling me I should have bought the right bobbins for my machine, etc. Unreal. This store has gone down the drain. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The ordeal should have never escalated. My return should have simply been accepted according to JOANN “hassle free” return policy.

It had lots of fabric.Some was marked down ? It had a nice selection of Christmas items.Some was at a good price. Also had crafts.Was lots of parking.

Best craft store around. I'm a cross stitcher, and my boyfriend likes to make fleece blankets, so this store is one we frequent often. I have never gone there looking for a color floss and left empty handed. They always have deals, and they have SO many choices for fabrics, it's unbelievable. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend for any crafting needs!

Since COVID, I've found the inventory to me lacking a bit but that's to be expected I think.. that said they have a lot of craft stuff and I love it.
