I've purchased two cars here and haven't had any major issues with them mechanically. Three stars because of the experiences I've had with the actual salesmen in the past. The last purchase I made was in 2020. The salesperson I had was referring to masks as "face condoms". He was kind of all over the place and when I was waiting for my car to get picked up the date kept getting pushed back. Finally, I got my new vehicle but it was filthy inside! I'm not sure I will return here a third time as I've had better experiences at other dealerships in the past. My parents have been going to Quirk for over 20 years so I thought it would be a great experience, but overall I haven't been very impressed. More often then not they don't have any loaner vehicles available either when you do end up needing to have your vehicle go into the shop.

I received a coupon for $20.00 off my next oil change and I immediately scheduled an appointment. The earliest I could get one was Oct. 24th but I took it. I made the appointment on Sept. 23rd. Afterwards; I noticed that the coupon expired on 30 September. I called them several times to see if they would honor the coupon. Eventualy we worked it out and they got me in before it expired... to their credit. They charged me $82.51 for a simple oil chage minus the $20.00 for an oil change I could have gotten from Jiffy lube for $29.00. Also; Jiffy Lube is offering $16.00 off coupons right now.

Highly recommend Quirk. Jeff worked with me for over a week to find us the truck we needed. He and the finance mgr- Mr G were very professional and fair. I will come back for sure next time I need to buy a car.

Just purchased a ‘22 equinox and I love it! Brad worked his magic and got me a loan with my not so great credit. Kevin was great while we were signing the papers. Made the experience comical and fun! Will definitely purchase my next car from them again!

Traded in my truck for a bigger Friday afternoon. Realized It wasn't the truck for my by the evening and called in when they opened at 8am to see if we could switch back and tear up the contract. They said no, contracts can't be changed once submitted. Such bull. You make the contract, you can change it. Less than 20 hours went by. Where's your customer service, responsibility and reliability?? Don't go here!

PJ is the best! However - his lovely attitude & friendly demeanor were over shadowed by his colleagues. After the employees learned my boyfriend wouldn't be purchasing Quirks service plan- they treated us as disposable. Purchasing a $35,000 truck- you'd think we'd get friendly salesmen despite not wanting their service plan...

I took my Fiat in for an annual inspection at the Portland, ME dealership (which is now Quirk Chevrolet). The Service Rep told me I needed a new tie rod assembly and possibly a new rack & pinion system(?) on the right front side. Estimate: $300-$1200. I asked "What are the symptoms?" He said "Excessive wear on the inside of the tire." I noted, "That's a brand new tire, less than a month old..." He disappeared for a few minutes & when he returned said, "It was actually on the left side." I left immediately & went to a local garage. Passed inspection without any need of repairs. Total cost: $12. They also charged me $200+ to replace an oil seal...which they had replaced less than a year ago! I did indeed need a rear windshield wiper blade replaced. He quoted me $50+. I bought a replacement at an auto parts store for $17 and replaced it myself. I will NEVER patronize Quirk Chevrolet again. Never.

Worst repair experience ever. Took my truck in for transmission problems the Service writer was all about selling me a new transmission and no mention of cost assistance from GM as I was 600 miles over on warranty. I contacted GM warranty division myself and they reached out by phone and email with no response, I myself contacted the service manager and service writer left detailed messages with my contact and the GM reps contact and neither of us got a return call.

On January 30, 2020 I purchased a BMW i3 (all electric vehicle) from Quirk Motor City of Portland, ME. The salesman was Mark Anderson and the manager was Robert Warden. The second time I drove the car I got a "Drivetrain Malfunction" error message. The error message said to pull off of the highway and have the car towed to the BMW dealer. Fortunately, I was near home and was able to get the car home. From that point on, the car never ran correctly again. When I bought the car, I was told I had a 90-day, 3000 mile warranty. The sticker on the car also stated that. When the problems began, I contacted Quirk Chevy and talked with my salesman and explained the situation. He told me that I was mistaken - that I only had a warranty that covered the State of Maine inspection items. I pulled out the document and corrected him. He then took the discussion to the manager. I got a call later from him. He said that since the problems did not involve anything that contained fluids, the warranty would not cover the current issues. Long story short, after almost three months of sitting and six weeks at the BMW dealer (having been towed there - since the car wouldn't charge or start), the issues were finally resolved. Part of the cost for repairs were covered by BMW, but more than $2000 of repairs were not. In the time I was waiting for the car to be repaired, I had further discussions with the manager. He said that he had talked with his boss Brian - with no positive resolution. Throughout all of this, I was very reasonable during all of the discussions - even to the point suggesting a compromise on the costs. Quirk Chevrolet still refused to repair the car or cover any of the costs. Does any reputable car dealership do nothing when major repairs are needed to a used car the second day it is driven? Given the above, I can't recommend this company to anyone. The salesmen gave me wrong information, the manager wasn't helpful (although pleasant), and the boss felt no need to help me (or even reach out to me).

We bought a new vehicle here today and couldn't be happier with the service all around! Q helped us find the perfect match for our family. He made car buying super fun! He was fun, professional, and efficient! We were in and out with the perfect car in about 2 hours. Everyone who helped us was really great!!

Sales team was very rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone purchasing a vehicle from here and even after you have a bad experience you can't get a sales manager to call you back.

Best dealership I have ever worked with! I have purchased 2 vehicles from quirk Chevy in Portland and would go back again! The service department is also amazing and has excellent prices; normally I would be hesitant to go to a dealership for repairs due to high costs but this has not been an issue with quirk. We have even been lucky enough to get a loaner car when needed without any hassle. Thanks again for the free state inspection too!

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER!!! I was shown a vehicle that was just turned in and I absolutely loved it!!! They told me that it needed an inspection first and we would make an appointment as soon as possible. I even received a phone call from the manager a few days later asking if I was still interested in this vehicle... I said yes 100% as soon as it passes the inspection I would love to buy it! I just need to drive it first. Please don't sell it and I was told that they would not. The next day I received a phone call that one of the other dealers sold the car out from under the other dealer and myself

Quirk Chevrolet, Portland, ME had our Colorado pickup for 8 days, just trying to find a parasitic draw on our almost 5-month old battery. Dropped it off at 7:15 am on a Wednesday. Every call or drop-in to check on it we were told they are still searching for the reason, they were stumped. Their primary electrical tech was on vacation, and due to Memorial Day, would not be back until Tuesday. Once he got back he determined we needed a new computer module. Took another two days, but we finally were told we could come pick it up on Thursday late afternoon. An almost $2,400 bill! They could not redeem my Chevrolet points (had 2440) because I had to log in online and click Redeem. I told him about the points and a 10% off coupon I had received from Chevrolet to put towards our bill. He never told me then how to redeem them. and I do not have a smart cell phone. In order to be able to take the truck home then, he finally took $100 off the bill, in lieu of using my points. I did get 10% off one part they had used. They also managed to find a leaking power steering gear, which they replaced with a new power steering gear for $715.88 plus labor of $380.64; and a leaking right front axle seal, which was replaced for $91.55, plus labor of $317.20. They had also done a 4-wheel alignment Got $89.95 with a $40. discount. They said the truck was ready to go. Got it home and discovered they had not reconnected the remote start, which we had stressed we wanted to work. So, trying to call them to get in and have it reconnected. Not open Saturdays anymore. I will not pay them another penny to reconnect the remote start which they had disconnected.
