Open all night. Provisions, gas, walking distance to Airport. Haven't tried the lobster rolls or hand made sandwiches he's yet.

Wow!!! Best little market/gas station I have ever been too! The food is so good that I know a couple who had their anniversary dinner there when the wait at Olive Garden was to long... here are 100 other restaurants near by but the food at the Rusty Lantern Market is AMAZING!!! It isn't gas station food... It's top of the line restaurant food. Lots of parking, drink selections, alcohol selections, an awesome manager, clean bathrooms and like I said before the BEST FOOD! When is the last time you were at a gas station where the trash cans were not over flowing with trash? I have never seen over filled trash cans at that Irving station. It's my 1st pick for a gas station in all of Portland/South Portland.. I seen someone said it was expensive in another review. There are some places you might find some things slightly cheaper. It's pretty much at par with other places BUT the items that seem "pricey" are unlike anything you will get anywhere else! Plus you get what you pay for and you get your money's worth. One of their salads is 3 meals for me because they pack so much in one of those containers. Not many people can finish one of those salads in one sitting. Get money than one dressing because those veggies are crammed in there pretty tight and you will need it! Don't miss out! Give it a try... You will not regret it. I bet it will become your favorite place to get gas and everything else. Oh man I almost forgot to add this little fact... There are other Rusty Lanterns and a lot of things are the same at most of them... But not the food. I have had pizza at 3 other stores in the chain and none of them have even came close to the store on congress st. .. their pizza is amazing! I'm betting it's the best in the state of Maine. It's not like that at other stores. They get different crust at some stores and all the stores have different ovens. So where the Rusty Lanterns are all clean places with good gas, drinks, alcohol selections and so on, you can't get the same amazing food at the other locations that you will for sure get at the Congress st location. Facts! Sorry this is so long. I like to be descriptive as possible in reviews..Ps... Their lobster rolls are made with fresh lobster meat cooked and picked locally. They put so much on the brioche roll that you have to take some off and eat it by itself because you can't open your mouth wide enough to take a bite and also it's piled so high it will fall off anyways! No joke.. I love the deal they have when you buy two.. and even more than the deal I love that they add a dill pickle spear wrapped in a sandwich bag to the container the roll comes in... Amazing!!!!! Now that I have talked about them I'm craving it and I have to go to the store and get one... Plus a slice of pizza because they make fresh pizza all night. They pack the cold case every night with freshly made food. There is no place I have ever seen that comes even remotely close to that place...so that's my honest opinion, thoughts and feelings... Good luck guys. Be safe and take it easy. :)

I work an overnight shift and I drive a little further past other competitors to use the bathroom at Rusty Lantern located in Portland, ME on Congress St. The cleanliness of the bathroom at the 2282 Congress St. location is alway extremely clean which is a HUGE selling point for me. More importantly, the customer service that I have gotten from from the gentleman, Matt, who each weekend is nothing short of stellar every single time I’ve gone in during my weekend-overnight shift. Matt is very kind. He exhibits patience, and is willing to do what he can to create a welcoming customer service experience, a skill that is hard to find at 3 A.M. I am so thankful for his warm, customer service-based attitude.Other things that I have noticed at that location are; trash cans that are NOT overflowing. A clean parking lot, fresh to-go-food with an array of dietary options and shelves that are well stocked. Oh, and the coffee ain’t to shabby either. You’ve gained a repeat customer. Thank you.

When is the last time you saw someone emptying trash, filling window cleaner. Wiping down fuel pumps at a gas station? All the time here. Not just that but the bathrooms... spotless. Now on to the food. Breakfast sandwiches are a must on the way to work... got'em and they're good. Strawberry smoothie with it? Yep. Great selection of snacks. And for goodness sake real coffee from CB design not that dunkin water. AND you can sit for a minute at a nice clean table or counter. On top of it all the employees are friendly and hard working ! I stop in at least twice a week on Congress Street and have been to the one Lisbon and had similar thoughts. I think this is a well run local company ( not Irving). I'm happy to support them in my travels.

This place was great un till the remodle. Then it went down hill as a night worker there's not many places that are open at 1:30 am. It was a great stop for some fresh decent pizza but recently I've stopd in on 4 sepwrat occasions to fine employees sitting on there phones and the pizza case empty or the pizza in there old and cold I would only recommend if you see a manager working cause that's the only time there's pizza bow I might give this place another chance but I have to drive out of the way on my way home and it's extremely disappointing to look forward to hot pizza and find nothing waiting for me and a store dead I could forgive it itbwas cooking but I've walked in to watch them toss a cold pizza in vary vary disappointing

Not only do they have great pizza at this location, the staff went above and beyond to help me today during a stressful situation. I locked my keys in my car in the parking lot and at least 3 different employees came to my rescue, one with a coat hanger. Eventually with the coat hanger, a random customer Ally, and all the help from the workers, I was able to get into my car where my dog was anxiously waiting. Thanks everyone at Rusty Lantern for saving my day and making great food to boot.

The management of the Rusty Lantern chain is pretty lousy. They should be burned out the stake or at least forced to eat the dried out rock hard pizza Sander the store manager here likes to sell customers. The employees here are really personable though. Just rude enough to be engaging but friendly enough to forgive them for being rude. They're diligent about keeping the shelves stocked, and making sure there's fresh food and coffee. They generally make an effort to be helpful. The store is kept pretty clean. The food is better quality than most gas stations. Except for the cheeseburgers. Those are worse than sandwiches from vending machines. They need to do something about those. And give that guy Jon some dental insurance. Seriously.

The food is good. The store is always clean and well stocked. There are a couple of friendly employees (a younger guy that works in the morning at the register, the manager, and a girl that works the register in the afternoon). The rest of the staff just do not seem to care as they have so so attirudes. There's a woman that I presume to either be a Russian or Ukrainian that has a very short temper and a nasty attitude. If witnessed her numerous times getting angry about how things look or are done by other staff members. The soda fountain is frequently out of service or doesn't dispense ice. Half the time you can't use the air machine because people are parked in front of it and are inside eating or just sitting in their car playing with phones.

I was in getting a sandwich and Mary was very rude to Jon saying u were talking for 45 min and she asked for help from Jon and he gave the help but then Mary said I’m going to make a specialty drink for a customer and walk away and Jon said okay and then Mary said I don’t need the attitude cuz u were just talking to that customer for 45 min so I don’t to hear it. That was a lie.

I LOVE this place. Not only do they have literally the best breakfast sandwiches of any gas station ever, but they have Maine Draft Rootbeer!!!! OMG!! And they have a killer Rueben sandwich. If that wasn't enough the young ladies who work the cashier at least from 8am to 10am on Weds, and the new guy who seems to do a bit of everything, always give such amazing customer service. Their manager is awesome too. They always remember us and are always friendly and very much a part of why I stop in every Wednesday when business brings me into Maine.

Work nights and drive over for pizza, but it's 50/50 whether they have any made.
